  1. Crede really knocked the crap out of that one :rolly
  2. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:23 PM) As of the start of spring training Boyer was quoted as saying they had sold their 1 millionth ticket, where as they had only sold about 800,000 at that time in 2004. Cool. Let's stop worrying about weekday Cell attendance and get to the real issue..... how to put an end to CorpseBall .
  3. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) I agree with you. When the Cell first opened it was packed. After 94 the fanbase dwindled and now on the 2nd game of the season there should be alot more people. I understand people have work, but there is absolutely no one there. I could drop a pin and I probably would hear it. No team in the majors minus the Rays(if them) had or are having this bad of attendance problems. Not even the Twinkies and they play in a dump. They need to do something about this. I suggest they allow people from the upperdeck to the lower deck. It looks discouraging when even along the first baseline is empty. I believe the White Sox have sold more tix so far at this point in '05 than they did at the same point in '04.
  4. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:10 PM) Never Fails. :banghead Looks like most agree with me..... unless you're happy with the way the Sox have looked over the past 15 innings offensively. I know it's only the second game of the season, but these two games are eerily reminiscent of Corpseball.
  5. QUOTE(FlaCWS @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 01:39 PM) It's day 2 of the season after a thrilling opening day win, against a division rival on a nice day... and the join is absolutely barren. What am I missing here? Is it a built-in reluctance of this fan base to believe in the team this early? Or is this what we can expect the rest of the year? Seriously, I thought the fan base was a little energized after this offseason. Please tell me the "Fla" in your sig doesn't mean you're talking s*** from Florida. And if you are in Chicago, why are you talking smack on here and not at the game? The Sox have never drawn well during weekday afternoon games unless it's Opening Day, the recent Fri. Cubs game, or a playoff game. And NY has twice the population of Chicago AND it's a Yankee town. Like Lee Elia said, 85% (Sox fans) of the f***ing world's working, the other 15% (Cub fans) are out here!
  6. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Mar 31, 2005 -> 11:06 PM) The guy who brought it up was from Newsweek magazine. I do give you guys a lot of credit for saying no to Jeremy Hinzman's claim for asylum in Canada. Hinzman's a pussy
  7. My day just got better. 1 less lawyer in the world. CELEBRATE!
  8. And George Ryan was clueless about where he was getting millions of campaign war chest dollars in his License for Bribes Scandal :rolly
  9. QUOTE(TheBigHurt35 @ Mar 29, 2005 -> 08:29 AM) Have the police just given up on enforcing speed limits in Illinois and Indiana recently? Pretty much. Under Blago, who is trying to balance the State budget on the backs of the State workers, State Police presence on Chicagoland Expressways has gotten dangerously low. State Police are now pretty much relegated to cleaning up the messes after they happen. Fatalities are on the rise big time in '05 from '04. Time for Blago to give his wife a few million more to plant flowers alongside the expressways.
  10. QUOTE(beck72 @ Mar 21, 2005 -> 12:03 PM) BMac is being asked to be the #5 SP, not the #1 Exactly. I'd be ecstatic if he can be .500 at the number 5 spot while MB is out.
  11. To those that feel bringing the hottest pitcher the Sox have this ST up to start as a number 5 until MB's healed as an idea that's completely ludicrous, who else would you rather have in his spot if NOT McCarthy? Cotts? Adkins? Barring a trade (which won't happen), McCarthy is the way to go at this point.
  12. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Mar 18, 2005 -> 07:02 AM) So does purjury give you street cred? No. But rapping about b****es, clothes, money, and cars will when, as long as when you're pulled over by the po-po, you're driving with a suspended DL in your FORD TAURUS like DMX was a few years back.
  13. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 11:53 AM) So based on what you know, do you think this will be a good movie? Should definitely be the best of the 3 prequels. If you liked the dark undertone of "The Empire Strikes Back", this one should be even darker. So much happens in this movie that is dark and sinister that I don't want to ruin it for you. But, if Lucas does it right, you should leave the theatre somewhat disturbed by what you just saw..... if you are a fan of the Star Wars franchise.
  14. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 11:36 AM) How do you know this? It's in the Episode 3 book.
  15. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Mar 16, 2005 -> 08:40 AM) Did anyone see 60 minutes on sunday? Lucas said the battle between Anakin and Obi-Wan takes place in 'hell'. Maybe Obi-Wan f***s him up good, hence Anakin needs his new 'Darth' suit. Can't wait to find out. This is one of the few movies I rush to the theater for. SPOILER alert Obi-wan defeats Anakin during a lightsaber battle and Anakin falls into a pit of lava on the Volcanic planet of Mustafar where Anakin has wiped out the Trade Federation prior to Obi-wan's arrival. The injuries from the lightsaber and burns from the lava necessitate Anakin to wear the Darth Vader life support suit.

    Best Movie Lines

Most of those lines are great for comedic value. But only one set of lines, as a kid, truly socked me in the gut and it was the first time in my life that I realized that, sometimes, life isn't fair..... Darth Vader: "Obi-wan never told you what happened to your father." Luke Skywalker: "He told me enough. He told me that you killed him." "Darth Vader: "No Luke. I am your father!"
  17. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) The leadoff hitter is the key to any team. Yeah. Look at what the POS Lofton was able to do early on w/the '02 White Sox and later on with the '03 Cubs.
  18. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Mar 14, 2005 -> 09:40 AM) Uh Oh .... if all holds true, the lead story on the news, let alone sports that day, will be the Illini championship game, as it should be. Who says the Illini are going to make it to the championship game? Furthermore, how do you know that the home opener is definitely going to be played on 04/04? It could rain/snow/sleet/tornado. As someone pointed out earlier, win and the media will be there.
  19. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Mar 13, 2005 -> 10:42 PM) But Ferris Bueler rules (except for the Wrigley scenes). I believe John Hughes directed Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Whoever it was (if it wasn't JH), he originally wanted to use Comiskey Park for that scene but the White Sox were on a road trip the week of filming. Wrigley was used instead. Hughes later got his shots of Comiskey Park in a film when he did Only the Lonely with John Candy.
  20. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 11:40 PM) Damn that brainwashing people with facts. And keep trying to get my goat into a fight, cuz I'm just here laughing my ass off & getting ready to go out. It's only facts when they buy your leftist bull-s***. Get another gig dude. It's played.
  21. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 11:34 PM) Wow. You must be cool. An adult trying to pick a fight with a college kid over the internet. Go you. It's about time people knew your MO. Don't you think? You brain-washed enough people here. Admit it..... you're pissed the Marines didn't take you cause you couldn't shoot a rifle so you'll talk s*** about them.
  22. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 04:47 PM) What did the court reporter do? Senseless. Throw all sense out when dealing with 1's. f*** him. Burn baby, burn!!!!! Enjoy life in hell you f***. Where's the lib's on this?
  23. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Mar 11, 2005 -> 11:29 PM) And as it stands, I am quite active with the ladies. Its not difficult to be knowledgable about issues and do other things. They must dig that lazy eye right?
  24. QUOTE(winodj @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Apparently a handful of Congressmen accepted trips to Korea, on behalf of a foreign agent. Three of them Dems, including Pelosi. This is, apparently, a violation of House Ethics rules. All of those who took the trips are pleading ignorance at the time that they accepted the trip. Here's the story. So DeLay seems to be caught in a lie here, everyone is admitting to taking the trips - out of ignorance - but DeLay's camp is saying that they got approval beforehand, even though they apparently didn't. This would be the House Majority Leader's fourth ethics violation within a twelve month time span. With Ethics violations, how many strikes until you're out - of the leadership at least? Apparently, there is no limit. Let's see..... you're comparing DeLay to the President..... both liars an both caught. But you're only holding the lower to a higher standard. Hypocrisy?????
