QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 3, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) Kerry Wood has never been the "Kerry Wood" that the media makes him out to be. Unless winning a career best 14 games in a season makes you an "ace".

QUOTE(JimH @ May 3, 2005 -> 08:09 AM) Sox did this back in the late 60's or 70's, can't remember exactly. The radio color guy was Chico Carrasquel. Good idea by the White Sox. "We take dat one."

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ May 3, 2005 -> 07:53 AM) She's the 'race writer' of the paper. I'm not sure if you follow her, but 95% of her articles are about racism. I see and call racism a lot, but a lot of the time she's really reaching for a story. This is the same b**** that wrote how Sun Times readers should feel sorry for the suspended DUI driver that hit and killed a Chicago firefighter a few years back responding to a crash with injuries on the Bishop Ford Expressway because he was going to go to jail for a few years and wouldn't be able to be there for his young son. Nevermind the fact that the firefighter had 2 daughters of his own that would NEVER SEE HIM AGAIN cause of this jerkoff. f*** Mary Mitchell. A perfect example of a C.U.N.T

QUOTE(qwerty @ May 1, 2005 -> 10:10 PM) Random sites i visit. I have a whole bunch of them that i have found and i will post them in the gif thread later. People can use whichever ones they like. Who's the dancing girl in the pink panties? Great abs!!!!

Closers are over-rated unless you have a Gagne-type or Wagner-type pitcher in the BP which the Sox do not. I really believe the colder, thinner air of a Chicago spring really effects Shingo's pitches and he should be used sparingly (i.e., not in tied or 1-run lead games late) until the weather warms up AND DEFINITELY not in the closers role until then. I'm perfectly fine with closer by committee. Glad Ozzie seems to be a manager that learns (and learns quickly) from his past mistakes.

Garland Haters and Lovers prior to 05'
CubKilla replied to CaliSoxFanViaSWside's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I'm happy for Jon. It's about time all those stats the Garland-loving stat-heads threw my way turned into direct results in the W-L column for the month of April. But as Harvey Keitel said so eloquently in "PULP FICTION"..... "Let's not start sucking each other's dicks just yet." There's still plenty of time for Judy to make an appearance or five. -
QUOTE(mac9001 @ Apr 30, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) Iraq might not have the capabilities to produce large amounts of oil now, but the Iraq oil reserves are supposed to be over 100 billion barrels. Thats second only to Saudi Arabia, so there's plenty money to be made off Iraqi oil. Then the US better get moving. This $2.29 a gallon crap is getting out of hand.
-
Maybe the crash is due to the US finally being ready to pump, refine, and sell all that oil the US got when the "Bushies" invaded Iraq

QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Apr 29, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) are you going to the game? i hope so if you are making this kind of a statement The posters that start these threads never do.

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) CK, I'm more apt to believe his research that has been peer reviewed by all political aspects of the historical community than your incessant anti-liberal whining. And you know what? I'll take the word of Vietnam Vets that I know and/or work with that can completely debunk this BS article you posted cause they were there..... in Vietnam and at the war protests once they returned home. They were always treated like heroes at those anti-war rallies in case you didn't know :rolly What's next? An article that states no anti-war protestor's ever muttered the word "babykiller" to returning Vietnam GI's?

QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 11:04 PM) How about something from the veterans themselves, CK? http://www.veteransforpeace.org/Did_protes...spit_050803.htm One pro-war Vietnam-vet claimed he was spat upon in uniform, though he didn't specify the circumstances of the incident. While there's little doubt that some Vietnam vets in uniform were spat upon during those turbulent years, no proof exists that antiwar protesters were the spitters. Jerry Lembcke, an associate professor of sociology at Holy Cross and a Vietnam combat veteran, has written a well documented book, "The Spitting Image: Myth, Memory, and the Legacy of Vietnam" (New York University Press, 1998) that thoroughly debunks the tales of protesters "spitting upon" Vietnam vets. Lembcke conducted extensive research to ascertain that there were no contemporaneous news reports or police complaints lodged to substantiate the claims that began appearing in the media about 1991. The perpetuation of such myths only blocks the healing of Vietnam veterans from our "culture of victimization," and it serves the agenda of those pro-war forces who place fear and intimidation in the path of open debate on the pressing issues of the moment. Yep..... here's that piece of garbage I was referencing

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) The white sox game was the 1st baseball story on sportscenter tonight. That should please some of you. As I've stated so often here before..... back up all the talk, get respect. Sox are now 13-4 and the media has no choice but to give the White Sox press. Sox haven't deserved alot of press the last few seasons.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 22, 2005 -> 02:17 PM) BRAVO!!!!!!! Congratulations...........you get it. But no Vietnam Vets were EVER spit on NUKE. I've read the leftists literature here that PROVES it!!!!! :rolly

QUOTE(RegionSox @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) I understand there is a lot of strong feelings about what she did during Vietnam, but standing in line at a book signing to spit in her face is crossing the line of acceptable behavior. Sitting on a N Vietnamese anti-aircraft gun and joking about shooting down young American pilots, "is crossing the line of acceptable behavior."

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 02:42 PM) I dont know but they were talking about this on SnR last time. Every time we get 2 wins in a series people start making these threads before the game and it jinxes us every time.......at least this season. From now on lets keep it quiet ok. Jinx

I know a little French..... Please, don't shoot! I give up! Viva La (insert name of country invading France this week)! I surrender!

QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 14, 2005 -> 07:08 PM) Usually when I am walking to work is when Howard plays the parady songs using the Kiefer Sutherland "Gravitass" or the Pat O'Brien tapes. I crack up and people stare at me. Richard Christy does all of those parodies using the original tapes that Howard gets. Everything he's done w/"Gravitas" is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. When they called the phone sex line using the Pat O'Brien tapes..... that was comic gold.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Apr 11, 2005 -> 09:17 PM) .........members of the victims family wore buttons bearing a picture of the victim. Thank you very much 9th Circuit court of Appeals. Another vicious killer let loose thanks to your ultraleftist bulls*** extrapolation of the law. Saw this on Oreilly this evening. No different than the cop-killer granted a new trial in Chicago because the prosecution put the blood-stained cop's shirt on a mannequin during their closing arguments a few years back. God forbid jurors see what animals 99.9999999999% of these savages are :banghead

-
QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:44 PM) Hey now...isn't he in Cali or something? Which is exactly why he shouldn't be saying jack about attendance. Most here are Sox fans that go to as many games as possible EVERY season.

QUOTE(hi8is @ Apr 6, 2005 -> 02:34 PM) i can not believe how few people are there, what the f*** is wrong with you chicagioans? I worked till 2. Don't know what the multitude of other posters here at SoxTalk were doing. Probably working to earn the money to pay for tix in general to the other 80 home games and a few road trips during the season .
