2017 MLB DRAFT
QUOTE (beautox @ Dec 9, 2016 -> 12:18 AM) I really like Jake Burger, JJ Schwarz and Brendan McKay. I think it would be awesome to draft Jake Burger in '17 and Seth Beer in '18 the promos write themselves. I've read a lazy comp of burger to Bryant so we'll see. Anyone got a hot take on Beer? Trade for Pint and you would have the easiest and most fun marketing job the baseball world has ever seen. Beer Pint Burger We would be the most liked team in the league.

Trade/FA Predictions for Rest of Off Season
I would be fine with Frazier and Robertson staying until the deadline to have them rebuild their stock. If Frazier can get back to his career norms you could get a decent haul.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 01:03 AM) Sold They were absolutely unbeatable for years. Not only did they have Tapia, Moran, and Reed hitting 50 home runs a year but they also signed Harper who was putting up MVP numbers and Altuve nearly breaking hit records. Anyways back on topic.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
Colin Moran and AJ Reed were hall of famers in my OOTP save. Tapia was close to HOF worthy.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 12, 2016 -> 12:19 AM) Astros looking at Duffy per mlbtraderumors. Its like they dont want to advance to the ALCS. This is probably them posturing and its pretty comical.

Fangraphs not optimistic on Anderson's bat
I might be completely wrong but isn't it a bit premature to analyze (or in fangraphs case, anal-ize) a rookie who is making adjustments and learning? How would fangraphs approach Beckham's rookie season? We are all aware about how his career ended up.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
Am I the only one who is obsessed right now? I keep refreshing mlbtr and this thread. I need this resolved soon so I can get back to my normal life. I can't imagine how Hahn feels.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
It has to be Houston. What other options do they have? I can see the Yankees taking a pass for now since their window will be in 2 years. Houston has to make a move now since their pitching is mediocre.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
Houston saying that Tucker is nearly untouchable.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (Wanne @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 07:36 PM) that's why they get paid the big bucks lol. But like you and blacksox said...have an infield of Moncada/Anderson/Bregman AND Abreu...good lord...that is SICK! That's why I'd do the Q for Bregman straight up...I just think he's gonna be a really good one. But what do I know... Would look even better with Harper in the OF come 2018. It wont happen but a man can dream..

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (Real @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 06:59 PM) Most Red Sox fans calling into this weei radio show saying they can't believe this is all they had to give up I'm just confused at how the deal was made so quickly considering the return. I wonder what Hahn was demanding prior to the agreement. I really hope he puahed hard for Devers..

Cardinals Interested in Adam Eaton
I really hope Eaton doesn't get traded. He is the type of player you want in a rebuild.
-
Your response to Sale getting traded to the Red Sox
Not enough
-
Legitimate chance of Sale trade to #Nationals per Rosenthal
I am prepared to be be completely underwhelmed

White Sox mocked in RedEye
Hes right

White Sox Rebuild Thread
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 11:11 PM) I wouldn't call it "much" cheaper. Miggy isn't going to command a ton heading into a decline and still being owed 200 mil True, I didn't realize he was there until 2023.

White Sox Rebuild Thread
QUOTE (Middle Buffalo @ Nov 9, 2016 -> 10:39 PM) Astros are in the market for a 1b/dh type. I'd offer them Abreu for some of their prospects. They have 4 or 5 of the top 100. Was thinking this too. Abreu would be a a much cheaper option compared to Cabrera

October 26, 2005
I was in my first year of college in Montreal Canada. My dorm had some common rooms but most of them were taken by the girls and i had to settle for a dungeon type tv room in the basement. I was watching it alone for the most part but in the 8th inning when Dye hit that single a lot of Jays fans came down to watch it with me. I was so shocked and ended up crying a bit once we won it. The jays fans congratulated me and were very happy for me. They are the reason why Toronto is my second favorite team.

By the Numbers 2016 season...
Can you rename this thread "depression by the numbers" please??

Jose Fernandez dead
The Dee Gordon home run might have been the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in the game of baseball (minus the white sox winning in 05). Only two times I cried watching this game.

White Sox Listening on Sale
I have a hard time feeling sorry for athletes who are making millions of dollars while I slave at work, but if I was in Sale's shoes I know this franchise's futility would be eating me alive. I really hope he will be able to put some championship rings on his fingers whether if it is with the Sox or not.

AL Cy Young
porcello will win because he plays for Boston
-
Jose Abreu
QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 5, 2016 -> 01:12 AM) this will sound bad but if abreu was playing poorly because he wasn't able to see his son, does that make him a mental midget? I don't have a kid but I can imagine that would be very demoralizing. Maybe Abreu sees his son as something more important than playing a game. Hell I haven't seen my dog in a year and whenever I think about him I get pretty down. I can't imagine what not seeing a son for 3 (?) years would be like. Mental midget? not really. Human? yes.
