I have not been to SoxFest in forever but I remember walking around one time and Kenny Williams was just there strolling among the fans and I went up to him and asked who he got back for Chad Bradford....he stopped for a minute and took the time to tell me that they got an exciting young catcher that he thought I'd like very much....which I did and I really liked when we flipped him for Freddy Garcia later. Anyways, I know it is a small thing but I always appreciated the fact that he did stop and talk for a moment. Another fond memory was talking to some of the old time Sox players who usually had lines that were very short....Moose Skowron was especially fun to talk to. Some of the current players would often be on the floor walking around and mingling with the fans and signing balls etc if you wanted. I had a joke with my nephews who loved to go to that if you came away from SoxFest without a Bob Howry autograph it was because you didn't want one.

I don't understand? What is not hard rock about this?.....

I've never had a problem with Brooks. In the past, he would answer emails from regular fans like myself and he does seem like a fellow who understands accountability. Of course, he is a marketing guy so probably was just blowing smoke up my ass, haha.

That's a depressing history lesson. Thank you for making it clear one of the reasons why they are in the position they are in now....zero understanding of the market...made clear again when Hahn overestimated the value of Kimbrel when he picked up his option last off season.

I love the Phillies....well at least for a week or so. Plus it would be a fitting end to this season if a team that fired its manager mid year would go on to win the World Series.

I know that hindsight is 20/20 but damn that was dumb. They didn't even try to pursue him, at all, as far as I can tell.

A marketable young superstar available with limited other suiters...I thought Harper was always the way to go....plus he didn't have friends and family to sign before pursuing him. Memories of that offseason also bug me.

As an adult I am amused at the houses that go all out decorating for halloween mostly because I know that they are gonna have to get that stuff down very early in November or it is going to look really ridiculous. You can get away with Christmas decorations after 12/25 but if you have skeletons and grave stones on your lawn after 11/2 that looks weird. With that being said, I must give props to a guy down the street who used to put a ring of ghosts around a tree in front of his house. Then on November 1st, he would put Santa Hats on the ghosts and leave them out until the New Year.

I don't really care for Ricketts and I truly enjoyed watching the video where the Cubbie fans booed him over the Marquee Network. But I will give him credit for going in front of the fans, although I am not sure how much credit he deserves because he clearly had no clue that the new network was not going to be popular. But for Hahn and crew, they know quite well that people are unhappy. It is just gutless to cancel the fan convention. They screwed up and should be able to take some damn heat from the faithful....many people would be fired for how lousy this "window of contention" has been going so far. The real world usually expects results....obviously the White Sox organization does not.

I would gladly wish Mr Pollock the best of luck wherever he goes...just as long as he's no longer playing for us. I've had enough of his disappearing act offensively for weeks at a time.

I was minding my own business cooking bacon this morning when my wife comes into the kitchen holding her phone and nonchalantly says "The White Sox named Jim Thome their new manager" "Excuse me?" "Isn't that how you say it, Thome?" I grab my phone in a panic to check Soxtalk and phew!! Almost burned my bacon. Damned internet.
