In a short season, exposing a player is less of a concern imho. I was just really puzzled why Ricky benched Engel after a day where he hustled out 2 infield singles. That kind of thing should be rewarded, but once again we got Mazara with if I remember correctly a couple of weak grounders and a strikeout. It's just very frustrating.

I remember being quite unhappy at the time when the Sox gave Cameron away for some clown named Conerko or something like that? Gotta give up talent to get talent. (Still wary about Hahn giving up the wrong talent when the time comes).

Well, I liked last night's pitching matchup and that was the only loss of the series so let's see what happens.

Nick Swisher was benched for most of September and the playoffs in his single season here, so I am hopeful that Mazara will not see significant time in the playoffs. Unfortunately they seem determined to let him see if he can break out of his funk before we get to the playoffs. "If only Mazara and EE would start clicking, what a lineup we would have" kind of thinking. I don't expect that "if only" to ever get here though.

As someone said before game 1 of the series, if we keep them in the ball park we will win....just didn't do that tonight. I'll take 3 out of 4...start another winning streak tomorrow boys....and start Engel.

This series has solidified my dislike for the Twins. Kudos for putting so many unlikable fellows together on one squad. And some of them I can't even pinpoint why, but I just don't like them.
