  1. A common refrain from some Cubs fans is that the Sox are not their rival and that only sox fans care about it. Its obviously a deflection but seems that some Sox fans have been influenced by it. Nobody who lives in Chicago and been to a sox-cubs game could ignore the intensity of it. I guess if you live out of state you might not feel it.
  2. You're in the wrong place for a political debate, bro. Try elsewhere.
  3. They are the same thing, the feelings of the fanbase toward each other is a huge part of any rivalry, I don't even understand this. Players come and go, fans don't.
  4. Go to a Sox-Cubs game and a Sox-Royals game this year and come back and tell me that the Royals are a bigger rival.
  5. The White Sox and Cardinals are not rivals... If anything the fan bases like each other more than any other two MLB teams. I've worn a sox cap to multiple Cards games in St Louis and I've been given more hi fives, cheers, and "fuck the cubs" than I can count.
  6. Key word being: IF!
  7. Because if everything works out in his favor, he's one of the best pitchers in the MLB.
  8. Well, he didn't play in 2020 because he chose to sit out, didn't play in 2019 due to Tommy John, which happened in late 2018. I'm worried about his ability to last a whole season. I think the hamstring thing will be a recurring issue. I hope i'm wrong.
  9. Do they have to lost all 3? I guess everyone is assuming Jerry won't shell out for either of the other two? Fair assumption, but that sucks!
  10. It doesn't have to be a 1-year fix, thats not what I meant. He would being in a huge haul.
  11. Rodon has had the same issues w/ regard to staying healthy, so I don't think that comparison is as apt as you think. I would have said the same thing about him - now, he's having a stellar season this year (finally), lets see if he can keep it up.
  12. I'd have to study the situation more.
  13. Fans always get attached to their top prospects. It can be hard to let go of a good thing, but in this case the risk would be in keeping him.
  14. I'm thinking about World Series this season, not worried about next season. Sox are a WS contender and another bat will provide a bigger impact than Kopech this season. Idk who - will need to research.
  15. Its really not at all, and the Sox could absolutely use another stud in their lineup. Kopech has become more and more attractive as a trade chip as the season has gone on. I'll be happy to be wrong about this, I just have a bad feeling that this is going to be a recurring thing. The warning signs are there. He has high value now. Pull the trigger.
  16. Why are you doubting the clutch stat? Is it real or not?
  17. Wow, I always felt this but didn't know there was a statistic for it. Thanks Ron. I knew it.
  18. He is real and he is spectacular - when he's on the active roster.
  19. Yeah, its definitely trending in that direction. Give it another 2-3 weeks and I'll say his April was a mirage. He started sooo hot that he has a lot of cushion for his numbers to fall.
  20. I'm just talking about all the "big" situations I can think of lately in his career. I don't know how to capture that in a statisic, its just my feeling.
  21. A lot of the white sox pitchers are almost certainly cheating in the same manner.
  22. Jose is not good under pressure. Just like last year in the A's series - he shrinks in the big situations. Not good for a team leader.
