  1. My point was that I don't work for the MLB so I'm not concerned if the unwritten rules look "cool" or not to the next generation. Baseball might go the way of Blockbuster for all I know, hell. I don't think that bat flips and 3-0 home runs are going to be the thing that saves it in that case. If you do, good luck with that.
  2. Nobody thinks that its the 90s anymore.. I'm certainly not stuck in a time warp. Baseball changes like all things do. Sportsmanship doesn't change all that much though. And if you ignore a sign from your coach, you might have to deal with a consequence or two. These seem to be novel concepts to many though. Maybe it reflects society as a whole.
  3. A lot of people on here seem very insecure about the popularity of baseball and desperate to attract new fans, for whatever reason. Guess what? Baseball is going to be around after we're all dead regardless. I don't care if it doesn't look cool to Generation Z. I like baseball for what it is and aren't desperate to change every single damn thing about it because "muh unwritten rules are lame" or whatever the issue is. Let Tony and those that agree have their opinion, and you can have yours. Stop jumping all over everybody that actually doesn't think baseball in the 70's, 80's, and 90's was shit. I hope none of you ever wear a throwback jersey or a throwback cap either. Those are from the bad times where baseball was lame and boring.
  4. Thank you. Everybody here loves Mercedes because he’s had a great 2 months. TLR has had a great 4 decades. I guess he’s just supposed to shut his old man trap if he sees something he disagrees with though. Its fine if you want to make baseball more popular and start new traditions, but a lot of you just basically have the attitude of “Fuck everything about the MLB before 2018. It was old and boring and terrible.” I guess thats going to bring in new fans?
  5. No. He's been with the team this whole time. When he's cleared to play he will go down to the minors for a rehab assignment first.
  6. Thats so cool, I love it! I am looking for TLR in the photo but don't see him, sad.
  7. They wouldn't have got the run in without that bunt, especially with the way that the rest of the team was hitting today. No run there means extra inning game for the Sox at best. It was absolutely the right call.
  8. Thats basically how I feel. I wish everyone would move on now. This is just embarrassing for 1st place team to be having a sideshow like this.
  9. Lets check. It won them the game.
  10. I don't want to see Liam in the 9th. He sucks. This is what they're paying him to do though, so I'm sure he will be out there. Buckle up
  11. Just send him out for another inning. The bullpen is bad they will blow it
  12. The White Sox are a south side team. If they move to Arlington Heights they might as well just move to Montreal, not going up there. Bye Bye.
  13. Its going to be another short outing for Giolito, sigh.
  14. Tony needs to shut up. He was in the right initially, now he just sounds like a jackass. The point was made and he should have stood up for his player being thrown at. Inexcuseable.
  15. Change the Game is a marketing slogan thought up by a bunch of corporate suits, nothing more. It doesn't mean, "Fuck whatever the manager says and do what you want".
  16. People were freaking out wayyyy before he spoke to the media about it. Just the thought that Tony could have an issue with it was giving some on here a heart attack. I'm not exactly crazy about his comments to the media, but he was asked about it and it was hardly throwing him under the bus. The spanking comment clearly was meant to show that it was not a big deal, it was silly.
  17. Guess what guys: Tony doesn't have to shrug his shoulders and act like a wallflower if he disagrees with something his player does on the field - ESPECIALLY if that player directly defies an order, which happened here. Its just flat out disrespect to swing if he was specificially told to take. Whine about muh stupid old person rules that nobody cares about anymore all you want, its not just that.
  18. LaRussa should have said nothing. But he was asked a question and had to be honest. It will all blow over, stop being so dramatic everybody.
  19. Now the players are publicly disrespecting the manager. Not good. Mercedes should be given a formal warning.
  20. Lots of times when teams bring up random guys from the minors they do great in their first start because there is no book on them. Seen it happen to and with the sox plenty of times over the years. Hopefully not tonight.
  21. Remove gioLito from the banner and replace him with TLR. Preferably a shot of him with his mask below his nose, half asleep for the haters.
  22. He should have bunted like Tony would want.
  23. Grandal has the 3rd highest OBP on the team (excluding Mendick). Doesn't seem possible, but walky walky is not a bad thing.
