You can call it meaningless, others disagree.

Yes, thats exactly what I've been saying all along. Think long and hard about it. Its all crying over nothing.

That would be a great response if TLR was telling Yermin to take on literally every pitch, but he wasn't. Just the 3-0.

Taking a knee doesn't end a game any sooner than running another play (provided its not an incomplete pass). Please do not try and deny that there is an aspect of "not showing another team up" when an NFL team clearly stops trying hard to score late in a game where they are blowing the other team out. Happens all the time.

These are minor differences. You're not going to blow a 4 touchdown lead in the 4th quarter with a minute to go. That is not why they take a knee. The injury thing is valid, but hardly decisive.

I listened to the remarks. Tony's main issue was that he didn't take on 3-0... PERIOD. There would be absolutley no story here if he took. The comments about pitchers tapping it back to the mound was a response to a hypothetical and not really relevant to the story. Your second point is just your opinion, you can think Tony is wrong, many others disagree. The other 500+ hitters in that exact situation over the past many years also disagreed with you. Thats fine. I hope you also criticize the Bears next time they take a knee in the 4th quarter.

Is this a trick.... or.... I was going to that game anyway. I'll bring the paint.

He wasn't upset that he hit a home run for fucks sake. He was upset that he didn't take on 3-0. He could have hit the HR on 3-1. Why is that so hard to get.

Football teams take a knee in the waning moments of games. Nobody says, "Hey, these guys are paid to play out a full 4 quarters!" The best outcome would in fact be another touchdown, but that would definitely be looked down upon if Tom Brady threw a hail mary pass to the endzone while his team was up by 4 touchdowns with 10 seconds left. I think players on the other team would be pretty pissed off about that. Now, yeah, you're all going to say, baseball is different there is no clock!! Yeah, I know. But Tony wasn't even asking Yermin to take a knee, just to literally take ONE pitch.

Ok.. fans and media. That doesn't change my point. The fans on soxtalk and twitter are stringing out a story that TLR himself has said is nothing and that he's not even upset about. Happy? I think people on here are just as big of drama queens as teh NY Post!

There's no evidence he feels strongly, lol. This is a story being strung along by the media. He's said repeatedly he doesn't think this is a big deal.

There's no way for anyone to really know what he saw and didn't see.

.. And, that's just your opinion. Other people have different opinions. Thats life.

Missed/ignored are word games. McEwing gave the sign and Mercedes didn't follow it. Just because McEwing isn't throwing him under the bus like Tony doesn't mean anything.

Well, now you're talking about the next day. I thought we were talking about that night. Thats when everyone was talking about Eaton.
-
The TLR Manager Thread
No, thats false. Everybody thought Eaton had a problem with it based on a video of them having what appeared to be a heated conversation. The TLR stuff didn't start coming out until well after the game was over.

I don't think he should have called him out. I'm just stating facts. I think everyone needs to get over it, Tony first and foremost.

He only said something because he was asked. Its not like he called the press together to make a statement about this. It all started because a rumor started going around (obviously leaked from someone in the Sox org) that LaRussa wasn't happy with the swing. If that hadn't happened we would have never known about any of this and certainly the media wouldn't have asked LaRussa about it.

White Sox nearing "revolt"
I read the whole article looking for a quote supporting this headline, or even an anonymous source. Nope, nothing. Just a BS clickbait article.

Take on 3-0 and then hit a homer on 3-1, yeah. And him hitting the homer on 3-0 isn’t even the problem here. The problem is Tony not being able to get mad about it. Yermin did something that you typically dont do, and he might have had to get thrown at to atone for it. Im fine with that and we could move on.
-
The TLR Manager Thread
No... not your point. Although Ill admit its getting confusing because the other dude is arguing that throwing at hitters is somehow turning people off of baseball. We’ll just have to disagree my friend.
-
The TLR Manager Thread
Now Im really not sure what you’re saying. The players are sick of the unwritten rules and want to have fun, but also its the players enforcing said rules and throwing at players who break them? Did Tony makes the Twins throw at Mercedes? I dont think Yermin really cares much if he gets thrown at, tbh. And that certainly does not turn people off from the game, far from it. Actually, things like that actually draw more views and chatter for better or worse. A benches clearing brawl would actually have the fans more interested than ever.

I didnt say “Not Showing people up” so I dont know why that is in quotes. Maybe you meant to respond to someone else. But to the point, showing someone up has nothing to do with being a snowflake. Its purely about respect my friend. Change in baseball can be bad or good. Im all for change when I think the change is for the better. Do I think all the recent changes have been for the better? NO. Thats the end of the story.
