  1. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 06:11 PM) I'd be shocked if they traded Noah or Taj, that's not their style. I'm pretty much assuming we're going to see Rose (hopefully), Butler, Mirotic/Taj and Noah on the roster next year. That's not an awful start, but they clearly need to add to it. I'm hoping to god they get whatever they can for Deng and Boozer, though I'm not even sure they have the stones for that. Deng should be easier to move, they're are a couple of teams trying to make the playoffs that might be a good fit like Washington (Porter?), Cleveland, Milwaukee, Toronto if they want to dump Gay (he only has one year left past this one), maybe Charlotte, Denver or Sacramento. Boozer, I don't know. You're probably going to have to take on someone's headache. I'd dump Hinrich for literally anything as well. Having Teague play starters minutes is a good way to tank.
  2. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 24, 2013 -> 11:31 PM) I don't see why. He waited a whole off-season and still got hurt. At this point he should know that it is what it is. If he's cleared, get out there and try. I'm guessing the mindf*** is that he has now had two serious knee injuries without any contact on either play. How do you have any confidence in your body after that?

  4. Bruce Weber and KSU lose to a Charlotte team that already lost to College of Charleston this year. It appears despite being a terrible recruiter he actually found a couple good freshmen this year so they might not be a complete clusterf*** the next couple of years but I doubt that continues considering his last couple high school commitments have been from kids with no other even halfway decent offers.
  5. Looking like another year without an NCAA appearance for Northwestern. ll That was an absolutely terrible loss tonight. The Collins era not off to a good start.
  6. Trestmann got really lucky. Awful clock management there.
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 16, 2013 -> 03:38 PM) If a top ranked SEC team has a tough game in conference it's "depth." Just saying. Not if it was against Arkansas.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 05:12 PM) Who is that guy doing a bump next to him? His dad
  9. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 04:34 PM) Cliff also said Lyle will be joining him. And KU will manufacture their transcripts to make sure Lyle is eligible from Day 1.
  10. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 04:24 PM) Worst day in Illinois basketball history? Deon Thomas/Bruce Pearl sanctions trumps this by a large margin. The day they hired Bruce Weber was also worse, we just didn't know it at the time.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 04:20 PM) He is either REALLY nervous, or an idiot. Both (and not for picking KU but it isn't a secret his grades are really bad).
  12. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 04:17 PM) Did he seriously just pick up the Illinois hat and put it down. Wow. Awesome day Yep
  13. Lol, Cliff not signing today so even after he commits somewhere this one isn't over. Awesome.
  14. Jerry Meyer now saying latest buzz is Cliff to DePaul. None of these guys know anything with respect tot his recruitment. Alexander has done a remarkable job keeping this one under wraps.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 01:23 PM) 247 Reporting Cliff to Kansas. Somehow. Would not surprise me at all but I would be shocked if the guy that broke that story actually knows.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 11:16 AM) So if a kid commits to SIU, blows up his senior year and ILL offers him its dirty? I understand it hurts to lose a good player but its clearly not dirty. The defending champs called, offered, and he accepted. He has basically never not had an offer from them. He had a chance to decommit from Illinois 2 months ago when Lyle decommitted from Louisville and they said they weren't going to go back to Louisville and that their commitment was solid. The family has zero integrity.
  17. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 11:13 AM) It's dirty IMO. The kids committed, you shift your focuses elsewhere and that should be understood. Wonder if Groce takes a gamble on Lyle or Brunson now. Kind of late in the game for both though. I guess they're ok at PG with Tate and Crosby, but Snider would have been nice for 2015 and 2016. Brunson is a 2015. I'm sure Groce will make him more of a priority now but while he grew up in Illinois with his dad having ties throughout the country being the home state school isn't going to be a huge advantage in that one.
  18. Also, because I'm not classy at all, I hope Snider is a massive failure if he goes to Louisville.
  19. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Nov 15, 2013 -> 10:08 AM) Nunn also thinks Illinois strikes out with both. That'd be awesome. That isn't Kendrick Nunn. That is a 247 sports insider. He is very connected to Snider so I'm basically writing off Snider at this point but that guys info outside of the Indiana/Kentucky area is no where near as solid. I'm obviously not feeling great on Cliff at this point (and doubt anyone really is) but I highly doubt that guy has better info than anyone else on Cliff's commitment. Frankly it has felt like Cliff has purposefully put out wrong information all week so that no one would know where he is going hence the rumors that he is dropping KU, committing to KU, going to DePaul, going to Illinois, etc.
  20. This would be so Illinois basketball that right as things are coming together to be really good for years to come they completely fall apart. Cliff going to KU (if that's the result) wouldn't have bothered me with our class having Snider and Black. Disappointing but not a huge deal. Losing Snider on signing day would be an epic kick in the nuts though.
  21. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Nov 14, 2013 -> 11:52 AM) No that doesn't count, because Hulls family offered to do that too and everyone cried foul... Remember? I actually defended IU on that one so not really.
  22. Da'Shawn Hand deciding between Michigan, Alabama and Florida today. Sounds like it is Michigan. Have to question a defensive lineman picking Brady Hoke and Michigan over Alabama.
  23. QUOTE (He_Gawn @ Nov 14, 2013 -> 07:31 AM) It's got to be Illinois. All this recent DePaul talk is just that, talk. No one wants their announcement leaked beforehand, so why not put out some rumors. After it happens... Then I can sit back and watch Illini fans validate how "Creaning" two players is different at Illinois than at IU, right? My understanding is it will only be one player at most since one of the transfers was informed (has to be Starks or Paul) that he might need to pay his own way for a year if something like this happened. Starks makes the most sense since everyone was clearly hoping he would get a waiver to be eligible this year.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 13, 2013 -> 01:30 PM) I dont think thats the case based on the scout rankings. I could be wrong. The article said its settled. Using composite rankings Illinois will have landed the #3, 33 and 40 players in the country and OSU #18, 30 and 63. Each class also has an unranked big man.
  25. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 13, 2013 -> 01:15 PM) Officially landed the top bball class in the conference. class rankings: 1. Ohio State 2. Maryland 3. Illinois 4. Indiana 5. Michigan 6. Northwestern 7. Minnesota 8. Purdue 9. Michigan State 10. Rutgers 11. Iowa 12. Penn State 13. Wisconsin 14. Nebraska Top Prospect: D’Angelo Russell, Ohio State Best Scorer: Dion Wiley, Maryland Best Passer: Quentin Snider, Illinois Best Shot Blocker: Trayvon Reed, Maryland Best Floor General: Quentin Snider, Illinois Best Post Player: LeRon Black, Illinois Best Athlete: Jae’sean Tate, Ohio State Best Shooter: James Blackmon, Indiana Best Rebounder: Jae’sean Tate, Ohio State If Illinois lands Cliff they have the best class in the conference. Especially with OSU losing the Mormon today.
