QUOTE (SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 12, 2010 -> 01:30 AM) Get that tail light fixed! Blackshear will be an AA next year... Anybody going to the games at UIC next weekend? Crandall's just following in Luther's footsteps of being one of the worst drivers on the planet. Hopefully he avoids the other issues Luther had.... But I think the most exciting thing about Illinois's 2010 class this year is that a case could be made Richmond doesn't even have the highest ceiling of the 3 commits even with how good of a player he is. Crandall is a true freak athlete and has good size for a guard and if he has the work ethic Lu did he will be special. However, Leonard is the guy who could really be an amazing college player and probably has the best pro potential. 7 footers with his athleticism are incredibly rare and he is also a very good passer and shooter. If he develops his low post game he will be completely unstoppable at the college level.

In Big 10 news, NW basically played themselves out of any chance at an at large bid by getting blown out by Iowa tonight. Basically their best case scenario is 10-8 win out minus the game at Wisconsin (unless they pull a miracle and win at Wisconsin) and that isn't good enough to get them in. They would need a strong run in the BTT to have any chance.

LOL and as usual when I post something negative about a player on here (that isn't on Illinois) they immediately make plays.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Feb 10, 2010 -> 09:53 PM) Roy can't figure out just how worthless Ginyard and Deon are on the floor. He just can't get past that they are seniors and it kills UNC. Ugh. Ginyard is freaking terrible. He really brings nothing to the table at all right now.

John Henson and Ed Davis putting on a shot blocking clinic for UNC against Duke but this has been a really poorly played basketball game thus far.

Korie Lucious absolutely killed MSU's momentum. They cut it to 3 Moore hits a tough 3 and then Lucious has a terrible turnover and Purdue is back in control of the game.

QUOTE (hitlesswonder @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 10:53 PM) As an unbiased observer, I think MSU has been the victim of some reeaallly bad officiating tonight. Sort of surprising on their home court.... That last call on Morgan was embarrassingly bad and the refs didn't even know what was going on. College refs are terrible at their jobs.

BTW Wisconsin is ranked #4 in Pomeroy, actually one spot higher than West Virginia. That is a really good basketball team and it is unbelievably difficult to win at Kohl.

QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 09:05 PM) Since yesterday? http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/re...636&prov=ap West Virginia has also lost at home to Syracuse and doesn't have near the home court advantage as Wisconsin does. Besides Weber the Big 10 is simply not capable of winning at Wisconsin. Plus I said might be, I wasn't making a definitive statement.

QUOTE (Brian @ Feb 9, 2010 -> 08:59 PM) My sentimental side wishes Paul was playing better and contributing more. He is playing the way he did as a soph on varsity at Warren. Trying to do too much at times. He played great in the 2nd half against MSU. All he really needs to do is learn better shot selection. He is going to be a stud without a doubt though.

That might be the best road win by any team in the country this year.

DMac playing himself into a possible NBA draft pick. If he is a first round pick he should go but I hope he doesn't go if he is only a 2nd rounder. He is the difference between Illinois being a Final 4 type team next year and a 9 seed.

QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 8, 2010 -> 05:49 PM) No kidding, Lucious played a TERRIBLE game. Lucas is about the most overrated player in the country, but he's still almost a sure thing to play better than his back-up did. Who cares about the Illini's record right now though, in all honesty? They have such a hard schedule left that if they get to 11 wins, then they deserve to make the NCAA Tournament. The list of bubble teams is pathetic anyways right now. Lucas definitely impacts the game but does it change the outcome? No one can possibly answer that. Maybe if Lucas plays Green and Allen who both shot the lights out get less shots. Maybe Lucas goes 3-10 from the floor and MSU still turns the ball over a lot even when Lucas plays. I don't think 11 Big 10 wins make Illinois a lock btw. If they beat Minny, Michigan, and say Wisconsin at home it would be borderline depending on the Big 10 tourney. Although we would be a hell of a lot more deserving than most of the A-10 teams people are pushing to make the tourney right now.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Feb 4, 2010 -> 12:12 AM) No, but I think missing more than 1/3 of the conference is too much. Play everyone in your division for 6 games and you only play 2 out of division games, missing 5 teams. I think 14 is just a bit too big. You could easily just play 9 conference games. The Pac 10 does that every year.

NBC Set to LOSE "a couple hundred million bucks" on Olympics
QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 11:07 AM) Fox, ESPN to Bid on Olympics Rights as NBC Faces Loss There may be nothing worse than an ESPN covered Olympics. Fox would be terrible and I could imagine that being easily worse than ESPN having the Olympics. Fox's sports coverage is generally terrible.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 3, 2010 -> 10:37 AM) Looks like the BUcks arent getting anyone they need, James to ND, Moses to UVA and looks like Henderson to USC. Looks like a really poor year recruiting for the Big 10 (well on paper from internet rankings anyways). Michigan and OSU both with down classes, and PSU with the only really good class.
