  1. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Nov 1, 2007 -> 11:26 PM) Team has the flu bug going around right now, and they wanted to see the kids play. Bruce is a discipline wimp, but he wouldn't even sit out a guy in stealth mode for an exhibition game as "punishment". As for the redshirt situation, Cole looked great last night but it's gotta be him. Davis is raw as hell, but his length, athleticism, and instincts at the 4 are too benificiary to not have. I wish they'd redshirt Carlwell as well, as he won't be in basketball shape until league play IMO, but I doubt that happens. Tisdale didn't look great last night, but he's too skilled to redshirt. Oh, and you could redshirt Carlwell. You'd lose a precious 2010, but you just gained one with C.J. on football scholarship officially now. Tough decision. CJ's would already be open for 2010 so you really wouldn't be gaining one by redshirting Carlwell. I would actually lean towards not redshirting anyone and just letting things sort themselves out.
  2. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 30, 2007 -> 12:56 AM) Lots of rumors that there will be significant trouble announced for the IU basketball program tomorrow, and I guess Delvon Roe's (I believe that is his name) AAU Coach has hinted towards both sanctions and Roe not going to IU. I am not as in tune on this story since it's not Illinois, but it sounds bad. Roe is committed to MSU so yeah, I've pretty sure he isn't going to IU.
  3. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Oct 29, 2007 -> 09:37 AM) I find it funny. If you want to stop them you have to stop them, not just pray they are good sports about things. I tend to agree. In college and high school and obviously youth sports I think running up the score is a complete douche bag move. In the pros, meh. You are getting paid a ridiculous amount of money. If you don't want someone running up the score on you than do something about it. Now with that said, I think the Patriots are being a bit foolish playing Brady as late into games as they have because it isn't worth the injury risk. Because except for when they play the Colts, the only way they lose is if Brady goes down with injury.
  4. QUOTE(thedoctor @ Oct 28, 2007 -> 06:06 PM) looks like 2010 swingman crandall head (rich central) will make his college choice this week. it's expected head (luther head's brother) will choose illinois. also, zook a committment from homewood-flossmoor's suppo sanni (lb/s). The unreal recruiting turnaround for Weber continues. Crandall Head is from Rich South by the way. Oh, and the HS basketball shootout at Assembly Hall has become an absolute must see for Illini fans. Richmond, Bertrand, Paul, Richardson, and Head will all be there. Plus, Whitney Young is playing and they have our current top target Anthony Johnson (2010) as well as having a bunch of other talented guards (Chris Colvin, Marcus Jordan, Ahmad Starks, etc.). For the first time Weber can actually kind of wait for a recruit without feeling the pressure of the world collapsing if he misses. I really think we put the full court press on AJ and kind of wait him out now as the last guard in those two classes.
  5. New England and Indy are so much better than everyone else it isn't even fair.
  6. Griese and Grossman have made a ridiculous amount of stupid decisions this year. But it would be nice if just once on a jump ball the receiver could you know, go up and make a play, or at least not let the D pick the pass off.
  7. Is it just me or has Urlacher been missing a lot of tackles lately?
  8. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 28, 2007 -> 11:32 AM) Anyone know where I can find a regional coverage map to see what game I will be getting at noon on Fox today? http://www.the506.com/nflmaps/2007-08-FOX1.html
  9. QUOTE(bigruss22 @ Oct 25, 2007 -> 09:04 PM) Wow, alot certainly happened in that episode. But i think it was a pretty good start. Beard-Face! I thought the episode had its moments but was pretty weak (by Scrubs standards) for the most part. But I will say I am intrigued by where this season is heading.
  10. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 24, 2007 -> 08:18 PM) Please say more positive things about Beckett. Beckett is the best pitcher in post season history.
  11. Rockies get on the board. Hopefully Francis settles down and they make a game of this.
  12. Can we just have the Colts and Patriots meet on a neutral field for the NFL championship? Because unless those teams suffer serious injuries no one else has a chance.
  13. Casey Blake having just an awful inning
  14. Lol, Matt Cassell throws a picks 6 so NE comes right back with Brady and he throws his 6th TD of the day.
  15. QUOTE(whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 21, 2007 -> 12:53 PM) Tom Brady is 9/9 with 3 TDs and the Patriots have scored 28 pts with 10:44 left in the 1st half. Ridiculous Make it 11/11 for 220 yards and 4 TDs. Oh, and that Randy Moss guy is pretty good.
  16. Tom Brady is 9/9 with 3 TDs and the Patriots have scored 28 pts with 10:44 left in the 1st half. Ridiculous
  17. QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 20, 2007 -> 11:26 PM) Wow! LSU just iced it. That worked out well for them. But I still think that was a dumb call.
  18. Congrats UM. Mendenhall still being completely underutilized. No reason not to have 25-30 carries every single game. The QB roulette is just ridiculous. And a big f*** you to Joe Morgan and Kyle Hudson, those two gave Michigan the game tonight.
  19. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 06:17 PM) kicked.in.the.sack. I know that feeling
  20. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Oct 18, 2007 -> 05:30 PM) 6:19 is decision time. It's time... Georgia Tech.
  21. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 09:52 PM) Considering none of those could be proven to be a violation and that reason was brought up as a possibility, I'd say it's very likely that the numbers called matched up with that situation. Can I say all of them? Nope Look, I am an avid IU fan and I am not happy with what has happened. But all of the crap I have been reading makes me want to defend it even though that is not what I am thinking. It would just be nice if people wouldn't cherry pick the info out there (half of which is untrue or unproven) to prove a point that is ridiculous. Call me an idiot if you will, but when looking at Sampson's 10 phone calls, it is not that hard to believe his story. If he was a cheater or felt he was above the law, it sure as hell seems like there would have been more than 10 calls in a whole year! Call him sloppy or stupid, but from everything I have read (reporters who dealt with him all year, coaches and recruits) he was doing everything the right way. They talked about how difficult it was to get ahold of him sometimes because they could not get through and he couldn't call them back. Now the other calls, I can't defend. There isn't much detail out there about them, so I will wait until more info is out before I get my panties in a wad over them, but I certainly am not liking the possibilities there. I very much try not to overreact to situations and wait for all the information to come out. I am doing so here the best I can. I don't want anyone to think I am in Sampson's corner by any means. But forgive me if I defend some of the BS that flies around the media and the internet based on limited, cherry-picked or false information. Fair enough
  22. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Oct 17, 2007 -> 06:47 PM) If you are going to pick and choose your quotes, why not at least try and be fair? What the hell, why in the hell should anyone on a message board actually be objective or fair? For those that didn't read it, the following appeared directly after the above quote. Other calls made to a recruit's house might have been intended for the player's father, who doubled as his coach. Programs are allowed to make an unlimited number of calls to coaches. Look I'm clearly biased on this one and since I'm not a reporter I have no desire or need to be objective. And sure for the calls that were made to a recruit's house intended for the father I have no problem with that. You think all of those calls were of that persuasion? Come on
