Cubs-Mets (Better Team) NLCS
QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 16, 2015 -> 02:14 PM) Eh, I'd say deGrom is their best pitcher. It's Harvey's first year back from TJ and to be honest, he hasn't been that great since his good start to the season. deGrom is better but its not that appreciable of a difference. There really isn't a big difference between any of their 3 big righty starters.

It appears that Fox and Marvel both have issued denials. Of course Sony and Marvel both denied that there was going to be a deal regarding Spiderman and that ended up happening so I wouldn't be surprised if this does happen and they are just ironing out details.

Blue Jays vs Rangers Series thread
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 15, 2015 -> 10:16 AM) Well he hasn't been there before. To each their own but in my world if you hit a homerun like that, do whatever the f*** you want to do. If the pitcher has a problem with it then don't let up the homer. Not only that but just about every pitcher goes nuts when they have a big strikeout to end an inning. Why is that ok but not a hitter celebrating a home run?

Cubs-Mets (Better Team) NLCS
QUOTE (AustinIllini @ Oct 15, 2015 -> 07:45 AM) This board is going to be ten years of misery. The Cubs are going to win for a long time. They're way ahead of schedule. Probably but players can regress and injuries happen. The Cubs wouldn't be the first young team to look like a perennial contender but not actually become one.

Cubs-Cards NLDS
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Oct 14, 2015 -> 05:57 AM) He could be dead and still be better than Robin Ventura. I can't speak to how they are in the clubhouse but from a strategic standpoint Matheny is very possibly the worst in baseball. In a game that is about matchups he doesn't understand matchups at all.

Cubs-Cards NLDS
And no way the Cards fire him but Matheny is a legitimately terrible manager. That guy is just remarkably dumb. Any other sport and a coach that bad would absolutely torpedo a team's chance of having success.

Cubs-Cards NLDS
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 07:02 PM) Oh my goodness gracious. I had 2017 as the year the Cubs began their reign. It's happening now. RIP White Sox, Bears, Bulls, etc. If the Bears were legitimately great that would be bigger than the Cubs. Football is king and you don't have any split allegiances. Of course it will be a while before the Bears are great again.

Cubs-Cards NLDS
QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:58 PM) And people thought it was "unfair" the Cubs had to face the Cardinals in the NLDS. The media is full of people who don't do any research and look at record only without realizing that the Cardinals weren't healthy at all and were easily the worst team in the NL playoffs.

Cubs-Cards NLDS
QUOTE (Soxfan90 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:46 PM) Yeah, the reality of the situation is the Cubs are damn good. If they get past the Cards I think they will go to the World Series this year. Will they win it, though? We shall see. Possibly. The Mets and Dodgers are both substantially better teams than this version of the Cardinals though.

QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:38 PM) If I'm Hahn I'm on the phone with St Louis as soon as possible, this is an embarrassing series lost for the Cardinals. I feel ashamed watching St Louis, I couldnt imagine how their management feels. How is their minor league system? They could use Q Their best two starters got hurt and Wacha was completely out of gas down the stretch. They should be fine next year if they have less injuries.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 06:25 PM) What position? DH? He doesn't have one. I doubt he'd be a whole lot worse in the outfield than Avi.

Cubs-Cards NLDS
Why the f*** would you pinch hit Garcia for Grichuk? Yay for subbing a good hitter for a s***ty one.
-
Cubs-Cards NLDS
Lol at pulling Siegrist against a righty to bring in Broxton. Most of the times managers don't matter that much but Matheny does suck. The success the Cardinals have had with him really does illustrate how little a manager matters as long as they are fine in the clubhouse.

So Matheny does realize that Siegrist is f***ing awful against lefties right?

Cubs-Cards NLDS
QUOTE (daa84 @ Oct 13, 2015 -> 05:47 PM) not sure I understand the approach the cards have taken to a lot of Cubs hitters. First pitch fastball away to Baez is about the only thing I don't throw him. 4 straight breaking balls to a lefty who dives out over the plate? Gotta bust rizzo in at least once per AB Agreed but that was just an awful pitch. Cruz wanted that pitch way off the plate.
