Um...even when this guy was the Rolaids relief pitcher of the year...he had people on the edge of their seat when he closed out games(not in a good way!). The difference between then and now.....he can't throw 99-100 mph anymore.

I was at Friday's game...the attendance sucked! 23,000!

6 weeks? Mags will be back by the first week of July. They were saying he wants to come back NEXT week, but they're obviously going to be cautious with him.

Brooks is going to try and get more families out to the ballpark...which he should. One way of entertaining the kids...is a mascot.

All I can say..is...FINALLY! Now keep sending Shingo out there in the 9th!!!

Exactly what I said.....no one figured out Hideo Nomo his first year...and teams faced him multiple times...and multiple at bats per game. Shingo is very effective only having to face 3 or 4 batters.

I was just wondering if Chicagosports.com and the Chicago Tribune will suck off Mags the way they did Prior the entire time he was hurt. Chicagosports.com was practically reporting every time Prior went to the bathroom. I have a feeling we won't see many articles about Mags.

I hope the Twins sign him. That would be one of the dumbest pick-ups of the year.

Ok...I read this post before I realized Mags was put on the DL.

Why would you call up Reed to sit the bench most of the time? It makes more sense to have him playing everyday in AAA. Of course you may see Reed if Mags is put on the DL, but he's not someone I want on my bench when he should be playing as much as possible. I don't know anything about Torres, but I wouldn't be surprised if the same holds true for him.

I've had enough of Billy Botch. I get a sick feeling every time he comes in when the game is close. It's almost inevitable he's going to put some guys on base and either give up the game or have one helluva time closing it out. Your closer is suppose to be lights out. The other team is suppose to feel like they have no chance if they're down heading to the 9th. Do you really think anyone thinks they don't have a chance against Billy Botch? Shingo has closed games before..just not in the United States. He's been outstanding this year. And before anyone says that it's only because no one has seen him before.....that's the whole point. Make him the closer so I can relax when we get to the 9th in a close game.

We had no buisness losing this game...that's bulls***.

You're suppose to feel like the game is over when your closer comes in...not like you're going to lose.

What did Baines do? And what are you smoking? We lost because we don't have a 5th starter that can even give us a shot.

Yeah, I don't know if I care for the individual announcements either, but the music they've added and cranking up the volume is nice. That place is going to be rocking for the Cubs series.

I finally got a chance to check out the new starting lineup introductions. They're definitely going to create a pretty hyped up atmosphere if people ever start coming out to the ballpark!! We're in 1st place!!! Go to the CELL!!!!

How did this turn into a big deal? Hawk was talking about how the Rangers were now better WITHOUT ARod, but you would think (since ARod is considered the best player in baseball) that they would be better WITH him. He said that's what so great about the game of baseball. You can spend a lifetime around it and still never figure it out. How it got turned into...the fans don't know anything about the game..I have no idea.

A great series by the Sox. It doesn't mean much if we drop a series to the Rangers though. I hope our bats stay hot for awhile.
