QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 08:04 PM) I may have to rent it, to check out a couple of these things. I just saw it on the campus movie channel. What happened in that fry scene? They buy a Big Mac, a Filet O Fish, a Quarter Pounder, fries, etc. and they put each item in a glass jar that's essentially a sweatbox. They track the rate of decomposition over a month and a half. The fries, after 6 weeks did not mold or anything -- they looked like they just came out of the box from the Golden Arches. And Nuke, the point of the movie was that the lawsuit these 2 girls brought, the judge said that if McDonald's claim that you could eat their food regularly as a meal and show that their food is damaging to peoples' health then the girls would have legitimacy to their claims. There's no reason that they cannot make decent fast food that after eating it regularly for a month nearly pickles your liver.

I'm in secondary education (student teaching next school year at this time) and NCLB is such a pain in the ass. It doesn't do anything to benefit schools -- it was just a reactionary "We're getting tough on schools" move by people who have no clue what they are doing regarding education since they never stepped foot in a classroom as a teacher or administrator.

QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 07:09 PM) Wow, I just saw 'Supersize Me.' What an insane movie. I don't eat fast food often at all, maybe once a month. I don't think I want to eat it at all anymore. However, I am stuck with this campus meal plan, which probably isn't much better. If you have the DVD -- watch the scene about the fries in the extra scenes. Its so disturbing.

QUOTE(lvjeremylv @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 09:38 AM) LMFAO. :rolly Please learn the facts. It will prevent the future utterance of horribly assinine comments. Google executive order W199I -- It wasn't in Michael Moore's movie -- but it came out in British investigative journalism that there was an executive order put in place by Clinton but signed and enforced by Bush to prevent the FBI from investigating any possible Saudi/hijacker links that they could find. Let's not be a partisan hack here. Clinton and Bush, at best, were incompetent and had 9-11 happen on their watch. At worst, they were complicit. http://www.truthout.org/docs_05/011605X.shtml -- FBI fired whistleblowers that were talking about how much of a threat a possible 9/11 could be. That's just the tip of the iceberg but I need to go eat lunch. I'll post more if you'd like later. And to quote you, here's a message that may help you out, "Please learn the facts. It will prevent the future utterance of horribly asinine comments."

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jan 17, 2005 -> 10:07 AM) If he says..."we messed up 'blank' part of the war" everybody in the world will jump on it....cause you are all just dying to have something to point at. If he stays steadfast and relentless in the fight..then only the people that nitpick every little f***ing thing he does anyway, will find something to b**** about. I have no problem with what he said. We did have an election...part of that election was the Dems hammering home what a failure the Iraq war is and Bush won anyway. It is not the sole reason, but it is part of it..so why can't he acknwledge it. I know all the elitists want to think Bush only won cause of the religion issues or the gay marriage issues, but I hate to tell you....a lot of EDUCATED people that can careless about either issue voted for Bush. Why can't you just accept there are people with a different opinion than you...and no matter how much you rip the president and no matter how many celebrities get paraded in front of the cameras to degrade this administration and no matter how much hype a movie filled with lies gets....people still have minds of their own. Republicans are not sheep. We are not all flyover morons. Even the US military (US Army War College etc.) admitted that the post-war planning was not done well at all. And please don't lump all people who disagree with the President or his polices in with Michael Moore or random celebs that don't care for Bush because there are plenty of others that are not down with Bush in all political stripes. I fail to see how he got a "mandate" on the Iraq war when now polls show 50% of the nation believing that the Iraq war was in error. Getting over the "I can make no mistake!" complex is good for that nation. He believes a lot of things -- like there were WMD in Iraq, that Iraq and Al Qaeda had a network, that its been "Mission Accomplished" but just because he believes it does not make it true.

"This is the second one we've seen in this hospital where the person was injured by the nail gun and didn't actually realize the nail had been imbedded in their skull," neurosurgeon Sean Markey told KUSA-TV in Denver. "But it's a pretty rare injury." How do you not know that there is a SHARP METAL OBJECT sticking in your face?

Its gonna be a good season". He'll probably remember me if you asked him. Im sure you could just call Comiskey and they'll transfer you through to him. I'm not even that mean but BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I saw that too and lost it....HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Another great one: You just keep adding things in there whats next then Williams came over and gave you 2 million dollars to play 2B. I guess things with Iguchi fell through -
QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) Well, where's Spiff? Tom Brady is no doubt god and Payton Manning sucks big ass hotdog weiners for yet another year. Two words. Randall Gay.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 06:13 PM) Uh huh. I see. Not that it matters who I voted for (I live in Texas so my vote REALLY didn't matter) but I was scared, peeing down my leg scared, if I didn't vote for GWB because of all the gays and liberals taking my Bible away. Good grief. What crap. Never underestimate the stupidity of people in large groups, Kap. I mean, look at Cub fans swallowing the Cubbie Kool-Aid (or should it be Flavor-Aid since that's what Rev. Jones used for the massacre...) There are plenty of religious "conservatives" mobilized in the Moral Majority etc. etc. that came out in force for Bush.

QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 05:48 PM) I completly agree. I really believe that the only reason he got reelected was because he scared the piss out of the CHristian right and they had to come out and vote for him because Bush had them convinced that if Kerry was elected the entire United States would go to hell. Correct -- the GOP National Committee were sending out pamphlets that if liberals were elected then the Bible would be banned...and that's not poetic license on my part -- the picture had a Bible with "Banned" written on it and a picture of a man proposing to another man saying "Allowed" http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/09/24/...ain645393.shtml

QUOTE(Chisoxmatt @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) I know i cant tell the difference between these crappy bands anymore. The government is building a secret army of generic bands to rule the world. That's what Lyndon LaRouche said about the Beatles. He believed them to be a British/CIA psy-ops project..."The Beatles had no genuine musical talent, but were a product shaped according to British Psychological Warfare Division specifications." --Lyndon LaRouche, from the pamphlet, "Why Your Child Became a Drug Addict"

Colts' O seems to be a little cold so far. This is gonna be a damn good game.

QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 10:55 AM) Looks as if the weather has taken a turn for the worse. There is now a Winter Storm Advisory issued beginning at 4pm Eastern time with snow and 10-20 mph winds. Snow accumulation is not expected until tonight, but it could begin before the end of the game. Temps are still expected to be in the low 30's, but the weather combined with a frozen field may make things tougher for the Colts. Either way, I expect a great game. I'm a latter day Nostradamus According to CBS, its supposed to snow throughout the entire game. And SoxFan1, the Pats' O was #4 in the league. I think they can keep up with a suspect Colt D.

Has anyone seen "The Hudsucker Proxy"? I saw it a while ago and laughed my ass off. Also, has anyone seen "Lenny" (1974) with Dustin Hoffman? I'm thinking about seeing it but want to see if it is a decent movie or not.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) It just pisses me off when people bash Moss just because they don't like him. There is no reason, they just do it for the hell ov bashing Randy Moss. Randy Moss is an egoist. He talks a big game about how he's such a great receiver and yadda yadda and then can't back it up in big games such as this one. He's really showing how much of a superstar he is with that 1 catch for 15 yards.

QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 12:13 PM) Indeed. They only brought ECW into the angle because they botched the WCW end of it so badly by treating them like jobbers and not bringing in many of the established names right away. It was never WCW vs WWE, it was mid card guys getting squashed by WWE stars so Vince could bury them once and for all. WWE is looking at running an ECW PPV this summer, as of now Heyman nor Tommy Dreamer will have any involvement in it from a creative standpoint. I can see it now, Shannon Moore hitting Funaki with a chair and Josh Matthews screams, "This is Hardcore"... :headshake Damn right. I mean by the end of the "Invasion" angle, the main opposition stars against the WWE were Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kurt Angle. They could have made that angle so awesome. Heyman, so pissed off about ECW going under and WWE stealing his s***, goes on a rampage with the ECW superstars. WWE f***ed up the WCW part of it by refusing to bring in Flair or Hogan etc. and we were treated to mid-card talent against the WWE's top talent so WCW would get destroyed. -
"...they looked at the two candidates, and chose me" Umm....George, that's really not saying too much.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 16, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) Is ECW still around? That league was the s***. ECW was bought out by the WWE and then used in that absolutely terrible "Invasion" angle. Because the fans obviously wanted another fueding McMahon's story than to see the WCW/ECW talent take on the WWE talent You do have to commend Paul Heyman for doing a damn good job with what he had though since the big 2 at the time could always raid his talent and his ideas for matches pretty much at will. -

Critic has it exactly right. The whole "Jeff Jarrett: King of the Mountain" can never ever lose is getting very grating. But then again, what would I expect from the head booking team (read Vince "SWERVE! SWERVE!" Russo) that created the "Jeff Bagwell's Mom on a Pole Match", "That 70s Guy" Mike Awesome or put the strap on David Arquette? The only "fun" matches to watch are the ones involving the X Division and even then its tiresome. The WWE product isn't much better either. -
Matt Leinart will return to USC for his SR year:

QUOTE(backman @ Jan 15, 2005 -> 11:27 PM) the guy has his whole team back, it simple for him, he wants to stay in school and play with a team that makes it easy for him, instead of going to the draft and ending up with a team were he could end up sitting on the sidlines all year, he would rather stay in school , get his degree, play a system of football that would allow him to have fun and set a record for most national championships in a row possibly back to back heismen winner. also he wants to finsh school in case he is a bust, he needs something to fall back on aka his degree. Correct -- lest we forget other famous Heisman flops like Andre Ware, Danny Wuerffel, Gino Torretta etc. -
Good. This guy was a major league dick.

28874 I just found it hilarious that Ashlee had an anarchy sign at her set during the Orange Bowl -- because nothing says overthrowing the elite bourgeoisie and social class structure and government than performing at a corporate sponsored college football game that is nationally televised.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Jan 15, 2005 -> 06:49 PM) Well this game should've been over already...twice. Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

Sorry Ash -- but a lack of ear monitors and being a USC fan do not a s***ty halftime performance make.
