  1. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 10, 2007 -> 03:12 AM) That's good news. I'd expect a Kennedy/Edge feud when he comes back, and that could be very entertaining. In other news, I read this about the Smackdown tapings: NOTES: The end of the Undertaker-Batista match will need some editing. Batista was late climbing out of the cage... leaving the Undertaker waiting, which when you are hanging from the outside of a cage, it seemed like forever. Then the worst ever exposing of a match then occured as Taker shouted "1-2-3 jump" to Batista. Pretty sure everyone saw it and heard it. Batista really, really sucks. But...but...but...he's a hoss! Are you not impressed with the rippling muscles and a lame ass sit out powerbomb? The students at my school are all pissed off that Edge won the belt from Taker. They hate all the heels. So, I keep promoting Vince. They also don't like that I am a huge Kennedy fan and an Edgehead. It is so much fun to make fun of Cena and Batista.
  2. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20070508/hl_nm/..._performance_dc When researchers linked standardized test scores of 1,667,391 Indiana students in grades 3 through 10 with the month in which each student had been conceived, they found that children conceived May through August scored significantly lower on math and language tests than children conceived during other months of the year. The correlation between test scores and conception season held regardless of race, gender, and grade level. ----- I wonder if it held steady for socio-economic status as well...
  3. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 8, 2007 -> 06:20 PM) Well, I don't want to see the "etc.", especially if his "guest" is B. Brian Blair. That's why there is standards and practices...and the unedited DVD sales.
  4. QUOTE(The Critic @ May 8, 2007 -> 06:15 PM) Seriously, that guy needs help. His entire existence these days is yelling and swearing at or about retired wrestlers. What an insufferable douche. Lets not forget Michael Jordan, I mean Jackson. Personally, I'd love to see a new MTv show called "Humbl'd!" starring the Sheik putting people in the camel clutch, suplexing them etc.
  5. QUOTE(Purdue129 @ May 7, 2007 -> 12:34 AM) Aries will be annoucing what his "future in wrestling holds" on Monday at austinaries.com should be interesting... Due to developing circumstances, Austin Aries is not able to comment on his professional status at this time. A statement will be forthcoming in the future at a more appropriate time. Austin does wish to convey his personal thanks to all his fans for their continued patience and support!!! And some background info... The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Austin Starr’s most recent TNA suspension was a result of “attitude” he expressed towards filming vignettes for TNA television. Starr reportedly made reservations for April 16"the day between the last TNA PPV and the iMPACT tapings"to celebrate his birthday, which was that weekend. TNA, however, asked Starr to come into the studio to film some vignettes. The wrestler, who believed April 16 to be a day-off, asked if he could instead just film the vignettes the next day, since he was already scheduled to work the tapings in Orlando. TNA argued that the writing team came up with those vignettes on “their day off.” Additionally, Bob Backlund, who was scheduled to appear in the vignettes, had agreed to come in that day as well. Starr eventually agreed to film the segments, but by that time, TNA was already frustrated with his attitude. The company decided to initiate the suspension.
  6. QUOTE(Purdue129 @ May 6, 2007 -> 05:56 PM) He hasn't been under contract with them since last summer. When they renewed Aries, they didn't renew Strong or he didn't want to renew... depending on who you believe. As talented as he is, I just can't get behind wrestlers named Roderick or Davey. Their in-ring stuff is good but still...Roderick and Davey doesn't strike fear into opponents.
  7. Kinda funny how TNA is demanding Austin Aries back but not Roddy.
  8. NSFW. Funny as Hell. http://www.wrestlinggonewrong.com/video/fg...dragon_fan.html PWG show. Fan starts a Super Dragon chant. It pisses everybody off. Fans swear at him. Super Dragon stops the match and goes outside the ring and gets in the fan's face, threatening him with a chair.
  9. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ May 2, 2007 -> 05:19 PM) If there was a large enough market for a smoke-free bar, they'd exist without laws requiring them. At least this will be state-wide, though. Orland's ban just moved all of the business from Orland to neighboring cities without the ban. Exactly. Let them make non-smoking bars if there is such a big clamoring for them. But no, it is okay to use and abuse one legal drug but not another in the same establishment. I don't even smoke but I know well enough that if I go to a bar, I expect to have certain things there. You still have to wash the clothes anyways and odds are that the stench of piss, vomit and deep-fry will seep into your clothes as well. Sometimes fun costs you. The people who are for drinking in bars but against smoking are some of the largest hypocrites -- yes, cigarettes cause cancer but I never saw a person who came out of a bar and killed somebody else or themselves because they were driving while smoking. Quick quiz: A person is at a party, show etc. and is loud, obnoxious, belligerent. Is he smoking or is he drinking? The only possible answer and A1: Drinking. The defense when it is said that smoking causes cancer is even more ludicrous. Alcohol can too -- cirrhosis, fatty liver acidosis, et al. It is just the chic latte liberal thing to do so they can go to a bar and sip on some fruit drink when they show up from time to time leaving people who actually frequent the establishments on a regular basis as a pissed off clientel who can't have a single smoke with a drink after working a 8-10 hr. shift. Why let individual businesses decide and the business market flourish with the idea of smoke free bars when we can have the government come down from on high and tell people when and where they can and cannot ingest dangerous poisons that can harm oneself and others.
  10. QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 10:11 PM) anyway, to the ROH fanatics out there, i'm thinking about goin to the show on 6/23...i've seen the Dedicated and Battle of the Icons shows from the beginning of the year, so is there any show or matches that are a must see? Or anything else I should know ROH-wise? Glory By Honor V Night 2 and the Supercard of Honor with the Blood Generation vs Do Fixer match. If you like hardcore wrestling, then Death Before Dishonor IV for the CZW/ROH Cage of Death feud finisher. The Windy City Death Match between Cabana and Jacobs from FYF: Chicago as well. Those are just a few that came to me off the top of my head.
  11. QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 08:39 PM) Well, the RVD Job-A-Thon is most likely underway since he rejected a contract extension, so I doubt he'll sniff a title match unless it's to get destroyed. Hillbilly Jim + title belt = Santino Marella. And the politics just adds to my point - Vince is more interested in holding people "in their place" than he is in building a product that fans can really enjoy. It's really awful, and it's the main reason I'm hoping (but not expecting) that TNA can build something strong enough to spark the competitive side of Vince. June 23, try to get out to Chicago Ridge for the ROH show. Bryan Danielson vs KENTA has been announced for the show already. Damn good wrestling that is really easy to get behind. /turns off Raw to go watch the Windy City Death Match from the ROH FYF show in Chicago. Cade and Murdoch need the tag belts. I am getting strangely addicted to the team. Plus, they have damn good athleticism.
  12. QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 30, 2007 -> 08:20 PM) Vince holding any title is an admission of failure to develop believable main-eventers. Don't get me wrong, I find Vince enjoyable in small doses, but to have the owner hold any of the belts (and how many different title reigns has Vince had by now?) diminishes the entire roster in my opinion. Lashley is an abject failure as any sort of champion or top-level performer, but is there no one else in ECWWE who can hold the title and have fans buy into it? It's desperate booking for shock value, and it succeeds short-term but fails in the long run. Um...Santino Marella anyone? This gimmick is so f***ing stupid. There are others in WWECW to hold the title and have fans to buy it but they won't put the strap on them due to politics etc. I'd love to see an RVD vs CM Punk feud for the title and build Punk up even higher.
  13. I don't know what is worse. Lashley having the strap or Vince having the strap for ECW. ECW -- Just kill it already. And is it just me or are more people getting addicted to MVP? I really am digging the gimmick, the in-ring work and the character he brings to the role.
  14. Cabana won his last match in ROH. And the thing with Daniels: This isn't the start of a new storyline - Daniels is legitimately finished with ROH as of tonight. From this point on, much like Samoa Joe and AJ Styles when they were no longer being booked regularly by ROH, Daniels will be focus primarily on TNA and independent bookings made through TNA's office. Tonight had quietly been Daniels' final night with the promotion, so ROH turned him heel upon his departure with the idea that if/when he ever returns, they have a ready made heel persona for him.
  15. ROH 4.28 Chicago results so far... 1) Delirious won the six man mayhem, pinning Akuma with what I believe was the Chemical Imbalance II. Jigsaw was in the match (even after getting knocked silly last night) and Quack was over huge. 2) Erick Stevens and Christopher Daniels went to a 20 minute draw. After the match, the Fallen Angel cut a promo "quitting" ROH and praising TNA saying he wished he'd never come back in 2005. 3) Brent Albright won the Four Way Dance, pinning BJ Whitmer after an Exploder Suplex. Homicide and Jimmy Rave were also in the match. It was said to be "Stiff," whatever that means. 4) Austin Aries defeats Rocky Romero with the 450 Splash. Afterward, Roderick "Pinchable Cheeks" Strong came in for the beat down on Aries, but Delirious was in to make the save. Announcement: ROH returns to Chicago on June 23 with the return of Marafuji AND Bryan Danielson v. KENTA. His matches just aren't the same without the high pitched japanese girl screams. 5) Morishima defeats Shingo with a suplex to retain the ROH World Title. INTERMISSION 6) Bobby Dempsey v. Sugarfoot is set. Tank Toland is out. It turns into Toland v. Sugarfoot, and Sugarfoot is mauled. Tank Toland wins. Toland now offers to train Bobby Dempsey. 7) Roderick Strong defeats Jack Evans with a crucifix into something. I believe it killed Evans. Romero joined in on a beating and Delirious made the save again, cutting a promo. 8) Current Match: ROH Tag Team Titles. The Briscoes defeat The Motor City Machine Guns.
  16. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ Apr 18, 2007 -> 11:42 AM) Just in case any of you watch Smackdown, unlike me, here's a spoiler for Friday: Deuce and Domino win the tag belts. I've only seen these guys once, and I can't emphasize how f***ing stupid their gimmick is, nor can I emphasize how terrible wrestling is today. As much as I mark for Spanky and London, I do gotta admit them having the belts for that long was getting stale. Duece and Domino winning the straps I can see. They're trying to get a marginal gimmick over. And as marginal as it may be, at least it is something creative and out of left field which makes it moderately entertaining.
  17. QUOTE(Brian @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 10:59 PM) From what I heard, Punk never attacked the Originals, just joined the New Breed in celebrating. I smell a swerve! Yeah, he came out and checked on Sabu and RVD after the match, ran in the ring and put up his fists as if he was waiting for the New Breed to hit him and then he dropped his fists and stood there. Then he hugged Burke and they put him on his shoulders with them all cheering and clapping.
  18. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Apr 10, 2007 -> 07:26 AM) So the backlash Raw Main event is going to be a Texas 4 way, first pin wins match? I cannot imagine a more creative way to get Cena/Orton/Edge/Michaels in the ring together /green. Hey it could always be a coal miner's glove on a pole match.
  19. QUOTE(RME JICO @ Apr 8, 2007 -> 02:02 PM) It is nice to see, and the way Masset pitched, that trade is looking really good. But I want Cy McCarthy! He's going to win 1 Cy Young and 15 Brandon McCarthys! /giggling about the naysayers from that trade That said, Danks is looking pretty damn good out there right now and is holding his own against one of the top divisional teams so far.
  20. 43 pitches for Johan through 2 IP. 46 pitches for Danks through 2 IP.
  21. Another BB. This is uncharacteristic of Johan. Time to take advantage.
  22. CZW has been going to absolute crap as of late. Hero lost his loser leaves town match against Kingston. Then Zandig fires Kingston and proceeds to shoot on all the fans saying that if they don't like the product, then they shouldn't come back. He also shot on www.czwfans.com for crapping all over the terrible booking that has been happening. There are rumors that CZW is refusing to work with the Chikara Wrestle Factory and other feds saying that they just want "loyal" workers (all part of Zandig's diatribe from last night's show) CZ Dub is destroying itself and the fans on that board are about to have a mutiny. This is hilarious.
  23. So, I am ordering myself some new adjustable dumbbells so I can lift heavy and decided to work out three days a week (MWF) only. (And a little stretching yoga on the off days to get the blood flowing) I have been eating my target weight in grams of protein every day, eating simple sugars during/immediately after the workout and then a bigger carb oriented meal about an hour afterwards to stay full for a while. I've also got a protein shake to drink that has 40 g of protein in each. Then, I plan on eating like a hoss for the rest of the day. I'm starting out at about 145 right now and we'll see how it all goes. Here's to hoping to be at about a toned 160-165 in 4-5 months. Thanks for the help, everyone.
