I mean, the Phillies made everyone know that they won't be outbid on Patrick Corbin only for the Nats to do exactly that. But the whole saga will drag on, and it feels like a woman you have a crush on going on dates with other guys.

Harper waiting for the Cubs to make an offer sounds more like wishful thinking. I think Boras overestimated the market and he is playing the waiting game for some teams to clear some salary.

Thome is probably involved in the negotiations, of course he knows something.

IIRC Kotsay was Ozzie's guy and was part of his rotating DH idea. KW wanted to bring Thome back while Ozzie wanted the team to be more athletic which lead to Mark Kotsay, Andruw Jones who actually had a good year, and Omar fucking Vizquel getting ABs as the DH.

Astros are a good fit for Brantley, because they won't need him to play 150+ games. Kinda surprised he didn't hold out for a 3rd year/option after McCutchen got paid.

Lopez deserves to get bailed out by his offense for once, let's get him the W.

Omar is a pretty big guy. It's pretty amazing how little power he generates with his swing.

Actually a nice start for Lopez in a game where he didn't have anything close to his best stuff.

He is fighting his mechanics, but these pitches at 89 were changeups at least according to pitch f/x.

The Sox should offer Arenado a blank check next year and hope he signs. I'd take him over Machado any day of the week. Moustakas would be a good consolation prize though.

He has been above average according to all metrics. He plays a better 2B but underwhelming is ridiculous hyperbole.

I was pretty high on Omar, and when I say high I meant a long term backup catcher, but watching him receive the ball is just painful. He should hope robot umpires will be here soon.

My guess would be that Kevan Smith gets called up due to Castillo's injury
