  1. I wouldn't go as far as Gallo but yea, there's a reason Judge's stock has fallen. He's an absolute monster of man though, 6'7" 275.
  2. Those are a pair of big strong oxen to put in the corners. Grab a couple guys from the low end of the Yankees T30 on top of that and I'm all in. Judge offers intriguing buy-low appeal, as does Mateo.
  3. Torres, Rutherford/Frazier (only one) and a couple depth pieces would be a dream. The Yankees depth pieces are near unmatched around baseball. You need a good headliner for Quintana but if the Yankees are willing to include that (and if the rumors reached this point they probably are) they can fill out a 4 player deal as well as anyone. At the very least the Astros have to put their foot on the gas. HOT STOVE STATUS: HEATIN' UP
  4. I actually like the Sox stable of position player prospects and I'm not just talking about the top tier guys like Moncada, Collins or even Basabe. I'd be willing to bet that this time next year a position player (other than Collins) drafted or signed in Intl FA by the Sox will be on a top 100 list. I dont know who its going to be, but there are few guys they have just itching for a breakout and those college bats they drafted last year I think will work out well. Somebody is going to explode.
  5. Go back in time and promote Gase to HC. Miami is going to make the playoffs with a roster worse than the Bears.
  6. They have bigger needs than QB. Got absolutely bulldozed by Ty Montgomery, cant make a play in the secondary and the Leno/Massie pairing at OT could use a new player. Falk or Watson should be available in the 2nd, go another direction with #4 overall. I dont know whether that means trading down and picking up another 1st rounder in 2018 or just flat out taking Jonathan Allen or Cam Robinson at #4.
  7. A hot start is actually possible with the roster as constructed. If Quintana goes HAM and Rodon takes the next step to ace-hood they could see roughly the same 1-2 punch at the top of the rotation as they did last year. Migo keeps it up and Holland proves to be a good signing that's all the starting rotation they'd need to peel off another scorching run to start the year. On the other side I suppose Frazier could have an MVP first half like he did in 2015 and maybe Abreu picks up where he left off last seson. At least one of the infielders would have to break out, like Lawrie puts it all together finally. The bullpen is so atrocious though they would basically be sitting on the same time bomb as they were last year. Robertson and Jones could be having monster seasons even, but we saw how well the "no lead is safe" bullpen worked out last year. Wound up being too much to overcome and the team imploded. That and they've dealt away like 12 wins at 2 positions off the major league roster from a 78 win team, I dont think they'll be competitive. BUT IF THEY ARE I suppose the front office just lets it ride. Give serious thought to extending Frazier but if his pricetag is too high him and Robertson are two guys I'd deal at the deadline almost regardless of how well the team is doing. Of course if they're on some insane 95 win pace dont touch a thing, but come July I figure their hot start would at least have evened out if not all together collapsed. It'd be nice to be sitting on a bunch of valuable assets at the deadline in 2017 even if that means the Sox wont be drafting in the top 3. 2015 first half Todd Frazier even as a rental would get a haul, and we saw what a rental closer cost last year so that bodes pretty well for Robertson.
  8. Normally when I try to justify ranking a player lower I dont compare him to the reigning NL MVP
  9. I really dont undestand why Moncada would be losing stock because of 19 AB's. Giolito sure, but I dont think Moncada falls off much if at all.
  10. Meanwhile Gase has turned water into wine in Miami. God I hate the Bears.
  11. I'm not buying we have the 2nd best T10 either. Now do the Sox have the second best top 5? At least that, but the depth is a little lacking this system still. Lotta attrition the last few years.
  12. If his catching was up to par with his bat he'd have gone #1 overall.
  13. Allard did fine all last year. I havent heard of any of his issues flaring up, if they have then that changes things.
  14. De Leon has shoulder issues. If I'm Minnesota he's the one guy I avoid.
  15. The ending of the story is great. The last 3rd of the movie is great. But at the very end, right before the credits, they do something incomprehensible. You'll know when you see it.
  16. I didn't have much interest in the Braves for Sale because I knew they weren't giving up Swanson. But for Quintana its a whole different story. Albies + Allard alone is tempting, not to mention getting Acuna or Riley thrown into the deal.
  17. He'll hit his way out of W-S pretty quickly. I'm with NSS, Birmingham is where he belongs. I still dont think AA pitchers will challenge him much but at least he'll get a taste of breaking stuff while still being able to work on his game. His bat is probably ready for Charlotte, but its not all about his bat anymore.
  18. I came in really expecting the worst, especially after TFA set it sights so low. I was totally wrong. Its at least the best one since Empire Strikes Back. Everything with it works, it connects very well to A New Hope and man...we've been waiting for it since Return of the Jedi and finally Disney went and gave it to us. Finally gives Star Wars a valid reason to have the pedestal atop the American pop culture world that its been enjoying despite nothing but average (Return of the Jedi), mediocre (The Force Awakens) and downright awful (prequels) output for the last 30 years. That said, the ending is possibly the worst in cinematic history. Seriously, it so bad I think they did it on purpose to get people buzzing about it.
  19. And the Nationals have yet to find a young pitcher they couldn't destroy. I really think the key with Giolito is whether the Nationals have ruined him beyond repair. The talent with him is near-generational, and he's only 22 years old, if they can even get back a fraction of what he could've been they could still have themselves a TOR starter.
