You know, I was completely against Mazara yesterday, but his ABs have looked better. I still have no faith he can do any damage, but he has given competent ABs recently. More competent than the umps calling his ABs for sure.

I think they'll start Dunning and have a quick hook. Essentially having him pitch the first leg in a bullpen game. I'd guess Dunning (2) Rodon (2) Crochet (2) Heuer-Bummer-Colome. Something like that. And then if Dunning is on his stuff, you can leave him in the game.

You don't know its him. It may be the team holding him back.

He played in 16 games and was good for .6 bWAR and .4fWAR. Mazara meanwhile was good for -.3bWAR and .2fWAR. So while you may view them both as terrible options, the degree to which they are terrible is not the same.

Oh well if that's all ancient history maybe Mazara should just hit 3rd? I don't understand why a 1 game sample size is enough to bench Garcia but 50 games still gives you any hope on Mazara. And if they each go 0fer, well, Garcia gives you more range in the OF. So even in their offense is a push, the advantage is to Leury.

Are you kidding? Garcia was hurt for most of the season obviously, but he played well while he was in. He had a .758 OPS. Almost 200 points higher than Mazara.

It may suck for him, but that is what his playing time has earned him. This the playoffs, not little league. He has been complete dead weight with the bat and doesn't deserve to be on the field.
