Roster size
with roster at 28 the rest of the year, that means we should have 14 position players: Grandal McCann Abreu Encarnacion Madrigal Anderson Moncada Eloy Robert Mazara Leury Engel Mendick Collins I like the versatility of those 14 and don't see any reason for this to change other than injury.

Holy hell, shut up about all the SJW stuff. From both sides.... Mazara active but on the bench vs LHP shows this may be a true platoon b/w Engel and Mazara. I like it, as they both had an OPS around .850 vs opposite-handed pitchers in 2019

Hitting can be contagious. Just takes one big inning. But so far, we look clueless.- 16 Team Playoffs in 2020 Agreed Upon
Essentially this means Sox, Twins, and Indians are fighting for 2 guaranteed spots.- 7.22.20 | Brewers @ White Sox | 7:10PM CT
Nice breaking ball from Dunning to K Braun. Hitting 94 on the gun. That'll play.- 16 Team Playoffs in 2020 Agreed Upon
Yup. The way I see it, the Royals, Tigers, Orioles, Blue Jays, and Mariners have no shot at being better than the Sox. That leaves 10 teams fighting for 8 spots. We'd just have to finish ahead of 2 of the following teams: Red Sox, Rays, Yanks, Twins, Indians, Astros, A's, Angels, and Rangers. I think that is very likely to happen.- 16 Team Playoffs in 2020 Agreed Upon
I wouldn't count on anything when it comes to the MLB/MLPBA and Heyman's reporting but sounds like we may have expanded playoffs after all. Thoughts? I think this makes the Sox a near lock for the postseason if it happens.- Moncada, Ruiz placed on 10-day IL
- 60 Game Season Predictions
We are only 9 days away from real baseball. Let's kill some time with a little prediction game for the 2020 season. I'll make predictions about certain topics. Feel free to make predictions about the same topics or add your own. Here it goes: White Sox record: 34-26 AL Central Standings: 1 Sox 2 Twins 3 Indians 4 Royals 5 Tigers Positive outlooks: - Giolito solidifies himself as a TOR arm with another great season. Finishes top 3 in AL Cy Young voting - Tim Anderson has an even better season this year than last, adding more power to his game - Luis Robert wins AL ROY - White Sox offense finishes top 4 in the AL in runs scored Negative Outlooks: - Cease struggles again this season, ERA over 4.75 - Gio Gonzalez proves to be very unreliable- Sox Summer Camp Catch All Thread
Crochet on the taxi squad- Kopech sitting out 2020 - files for divorce
Completely disagree. Kopech is still the highest ceiling starting pitcher in the org. He'll still only be 24 next year's opening day. He will be in the rotation.- Kopech sitting out 2020 - files for divorce
From the article: "According to multiple sources, the White Sox got a full presentation of Kopech’s concerns about playing in 2020 during a meeting in Chicago that included chairman Jerry Reinsdorf, general manager Rick Hahn and assistant general manager Jeremy Haber. On the same day of that meeting roughly two weeks ago, two sources indicate Kopech spoke over the phone with manager Rick Renteria for an hour. Kopech’s camp has been in regular contact with the Sox front office since. Those parties involved have an understanding of the concerns that Kopech and his representatives presented, but will strive to respect his privacy until he personally decides to reveal his motivations. Sources close to Kopech indicate he was driven by a litany of concerns, not limited to a short ramp-up to action, an uncertain role, uncertainty over the fate of the 2020 season, caution in determining how and when to best return to action from Tommy John surgery, and despite not being medically deemed high-risk himself, concern over how playing amid the pandemic could threaten the health of those close to him."- 2 White Sox have Covid 19
