October 11, 20169 yr QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 07:53 AM) Game 1: Friday 10/14 @ CLE Game 2: Saturday 10/15 @ CLE Game 3: Monday 10/17 @ TOR Game 4: Tuesday 10/18 @ TOR Game 5: Wednesday 10/19 @ TOR Game 6: Friday 10/21 @ CLE Game 7: Saturday 10/22 @ CLE All games on TBS does the alcs and ncls alternate from fox to tbs annually?
October 11, 20169 yr My wife is from Cleveland and so obviously is an Indians fan. I will admit I ordered a couple of "Party at Napoli's" shirts from 108 stitches.
October 11, 20169 yr Author QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 11, 2016 -> 03:07 PM) does the alcs and ncls alternate from fox to tbs annually? Yup. According to Wiki, it looks like they are both signed through 2021.
October 15, 20169 yr Miller is a huge weapon they were lacking. And the Indians still have Lindor and Kluber...which just might be enough to overcome the losses of Salazar and Carrasco. Good luck AL Central in 2017.
October 15, 20169 yr QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 14, 2016 -> 11:26 PM) That Indians line up doesn't seem like it should be good at all. Ramirez, Lindor... hmm it's really their pitching though
October 15, 20169 yr Great game tonight, hopefully the start of a great series. I like Cleveland in 7.
October 15, 20169 yr The Indians are the AL version of the Giants, right? Except with a much better bullpen.
October 15, 20169 yr QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 14, 2016 -> 11:26 PM) That Indians line up doesn't seem like it should be good at all. Lindor and Kipnis are both really good consistent hitters who do pretty much everything well. Santana and Napoli are their power bats. Jose Ramirez basically came out of nowhere this season. They don't look great on paper, but they produce on the field.
October 15, 20169 yr The Indians have six OPS+ guys in Napoli, Kipnis, Lindor, Santana, Jose Ramirez and Naquin. Seven if you count Brandon Guyer. Four of those guys totaled 57, 60, 78 and 99 walks (Santana). They also were extremely proficient at stealing bases. Only when you compare to the Blue Jays hitting all those homers (six with 20+)...with that similar offense to the 2000 and 2006 first half White Sox do they come up short.
October 15, 20169 yr QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Oct 15, 2016 -> 01:52 AM) The Indians are the AL version of the Giants, right? Except with a much better bullpen. Actually they remind me of the 2014/2015 Royals. Solid starting pitching, very good defense, timely hitting, and most importantly excellent bullpen. With the mid season acquisition of Miller, good luck trying to come back if they have a lead late in the game. Most important acquisition in baseball at this year's deadline. And yes, he's better than Chapman.
October 15, 20169 yr Yeah, they aren't the best at anything really, but they are incredibly well-balanced. They do everything pretty darned well. Including having a damned good manager.
October 15, 20169 yr You can see why they were willing to give up so much for him: Andrew Miller's career postseason numbers: 49 batters faced, four hits, three walks, 0 runs, 22 strikeouts.
October 15, 20169 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 15, 2016 -> 04:52 PM) Tomlin is bound to get lit up sometime this postseason. He's not this good... Let's hope it happens in the next 2-3 innings.
October 15, 20169 yr QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 15, 2016 -> 05:01 PM) Shaw coming in. He's definitely not Andrew Miller. But he's pretty good. Cleveland bullpen vs Toronto bullpen. Advantage Cleveland
October 15, 20169 yr Yeah, Miller is insane. This is the type of trade at the deadline that has worked out in every sense of the way.
