April 23, 20178 yr This has been a super dissapointing year (so far) for our minor league system. I really hope Lopez is working on specific pitches or something, because his numbers have been fairly ugly.
April 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 07:21 PM) This has been a super dissapointing year (so far) for our minor league system. I really hope Lopez is working on specific pitches or something, because his numbers have been fairly ugly. Every year it is like this no matter who we have. Our best players so far are Mitch Roman and Dane Dunning
April 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 23, 2017 -> 01:25 AM) Every year it is like this no matter who we have. Our best players so far are Mitch Roman and Dane Dunning Yet Buddy Bell stays in the organization.
April 23, 20178 yr Moncada 2-3 Delmonico 1-1, 2B, BB Future White Sox #3 starter Matt Cooper 1.0 IP, 0H, 0BB, 2K
April 23, 20178 yr Author s***, and I had hopes of good pitching performances tonight. Hopefully Cooper has a nice outing.
April 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 07:39 PM) Can we replace Asche with Delmonico already +1
April 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 07:51 PM) 2.0 IP, 1H, 0R, 0BB, 4K for Cooper. Had a K/9 of 18 and BB/9 of 2.25 coming in. I saw article this morning that mentioned his velocity actually increased into the low 90's at some point last year. He's a guy that deserves an extended look in the rotation assuming he can keep this up.
April 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 07:36 PM) Future White Sox #3 starter Matt Cooper 1.0 IP, 0H, 0BB, 2K It sickens me whenever I think that this organization is hell bent on putting him in the bullpen.
April 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (Donaldo @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 07:16 PM) It sickens me whenever I think that this organization is hell bent on putting him in the bullpen. It seems really, really dumb, particularly given his stated preference for starting. Hopefully he forces their hand by continuing to be as ridiculous as he has been. 4.0 IP, 4H, 1R, 0BB, 7K.
April 23, 20178 yr Check out how awful this draft was http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/team/draft...s&year=2012
April 23, 20178 yr Cooper finishes at 5.2 IP, 5H, 2R, 0BB, 8K. Edited April 23, 20178 yr by Feeky Magee
April 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 07:32 PM) Check out how awful this draft was http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/team/draft...s&year=2012 Man, that is an eye opener. Futility.
April 23, 20178 yr Let's hope we have more than Dunning and Moncada to show for this minor league season. We desperately need someone like W Garcia to morph into the next Thames. Pretty bleak right now unless we sign Robert or get the next Benintendi in the draft.
April 23, 20178 yr Courtney Hawkins having another tough night. 3 AB's, all strikeouts. What's the point here in keeping him? Do him a favor and release him. Maybe another org can help him.
April 23, 20178 yr Oh, and pray Kopech can discover his control and become a TOR monster. Hawkins peaked early, just like Mitchell...heck, the flip on the draft show might turn out to be what he's most remembered for.
April 23, 20178 yr QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 22, 2017 -> 09:17 PM) Hawkins peaked early, just like Mitchell... Mitchell was a far better prospect at this point. That ankle injury destroyed his career.
April 23, 20178 yr Colton Turner (the return from the Blue Jays for Dioner Navarro) has been good early for Birmingham. 2.0 IP, 0H, 0BB, 3K tonight. 15K, 3BB in 10 IP on the year.
