Just got off of a 4 hour flight. Who made the 4 errors?

Frazier, Yolmer, Engel and Smith. Probably five other blunders that weren't errors also

Wow quick hook

I'd have let Q try and get out of this. I trust him more than Swarzak.

Yeah, I don't like this at all.

Renteria obviously didn't think Q was confident against Napoli...makes sense.

He was starting to nibble and hesitating about what pitches to throw there with Smith.

I'd have kept Q in too but Napoli is a *massive* platoon splits guy.

Ugh! What a crap game

f***

So what do scouts even take away from this start?

Q and now Swarzak have been so unlucky today. That's brutal.

Sox defense f***ing sucked

Dammit....0-2 count, to boot.

Back up to a 4.45 era. 6 hits, two walks in 4.3 ip.

Nothing, the defense ruined it. Cost Q many pitches

Yeah, but you still have to look at how he pitches when faced with adversity.

I know he's pitched better of late, but he annoys the ever living f*** out of me when men are on base.

My wife is like "why are you always yelling at the tv when this guy pitches?"

Yeah I don't think this start changes things either way.

I thought he was still pitching well with guys on base. Tons of weak contact and the Sox defense just kept letting him down.

It is so irritating. Stinking bloopers

He pitched fine with adversity. Not like they hit him hard. Hated the 3-2 pitch to Beltre that inning though

I disagree. I get they weren't exactly barreling him up but he also doesn't record outs. He just wastes pitch after pitch after pitch and then walks guys. He can't put anyone away.

This isn't anything new. He's a great pitcher when things go well. When he has to pitch out of the stretch, he's a completely different guy.

Davidson below 800 ops now...he, Avi and SANCHEZ all sliding.

Leury out, Anderson scuffling as well.

The veterans and Smith are carrying the offense, as it is.

The problem is he has no way to get a FB past Beltre, so he tries to get cute and basically hopes for a trick K with offspeed stuff, but no conviction behind it. Then pitching out of the stretch takes a couple mph off his FB.

Still think Swarzak draws some interest.

Swarzy is back in the groove

Swarzak has pitched himself back to the point where he'll have decent trade value. Nice to see.

Wtf is that swing. Did same thing yesterday

Anderson should be sitting dead red against Frieri but caught in between...like he couldn't believe it was a fastball when that's pretty much all he threw.

And if Giolito and Fulmer are going to end up struggling, and we can't be sure about Rodon taking the next step...keeping Q wouldn't be the worst thing, the old he has more value to the Sox argument.

With Kopech, Hansen, Lopez, Dunning and Guerrero, at least two of those five need to make it. Minimum.

Why is is so incredibly difficult for us to steal bases and so incredibly difficult for us to prevent others from stealing bases?
