August 17, 20178 yr QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 10:58 AM) Isn't Delmonico's offensive potential basically what Rutherford's is? I have never seen Delmonico described with that kind of power potential.
August 17, 20178 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 05:14 PM) I have never seen Delmonico described with that kind of power potential. I think both max out at 20-25
August 17, 20178 yr QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Aug 16, 2017 -> 09:05 PM) Giolito is Floyd, Lopez is a harder throwing Vazquez If Reynaldo Lopez ends up being Javier Vazquez, this team is gonna go ham. Vazquez put up 53.9 fWAR over his career, while putting up season of 4.7, 4.8, and 4.7 with the Sox.
August 17, 20178 yr The only guy I think should be on the list that isn't is Hansen, but I get waiting to see if he can put up good results in AA first.
August 17, 20178 yr QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 11:14 AM) I have never seen Delmonico described with that kind of power potential. Everything in regards to Rutherford's power potential right now is projection. Delmonico has shown the ability to consistently hit for above average power, at least in the minor leagues. This is not an argument in favor of Delmonico over Rutherford, whether it's as a hitter or player overall, but so far Rutherford has played ~500 career minor league games and his power hasn't translated to game action at all. Vazquez put up 53.9 fWAR over his career, while putting up season of 4.7, 4.8, and 4.7 with the Sox. If Lopez becomes Javy Vazquez & Giolito becomes Gavin Floyd that is a win for the White Sox player development system.

Huh? You mean plate appearances? Not even close to the same significance. He has had about 1 season's worth of ABs. His first professional season. In A ball. He turned 20 during this season. The amount of hand wringing here over a kid who is the youngest on his team, was traded mid-season, hitting .275 and on pace for over 30 doubles seems extreme. https://www.baseball-reference.com/register...id=ruther000bla

That's a brutal typo. My mistake.
