May 1, 20187 yr Evan skoug looks like a wasted pick rather than a value 7th rounder (or whatever round he was)

May 2, 20187 yr The outfield depth is remarkable. Hope they keep the right ones, because they’re going to trade some of these guys down the line.
May 2, 20187 yr Kopech getting hit around a bit so far. I gotta say, I love how fast he works. Just catch's and throws. Edited May 2, 20187 yr by mac9001
May 2, 20187 yr 7th round pick a “wasted pick” and less than a year into their career. Never change soxtalk.

You can't think that a guy who was one strikeout away from the NCAA single season record had a good hit tool. We knew it was going to be something that we were going to have to work on and really undo a year or more of bad habits he got into. But with his power potential it was worth it.

Yes 100% It was a flyer he could translate his power and that trait was certainly one of the most interesting ones left. But he’s a flyer that needs to overcome a lot of swing and miss. But if he does, (see power above)
May 2, 20187 yr Sounds like you're describing Keon Barnum there...but a 7th round draft pick failing isn't a huge deal in the overall scheme of things, it's more the 1st through 3rd and maybe 4th/5th rounders you should be most critical of (depending on whether they're under or oversigns.)

There is 1 reason he was drafted as high as the 7th round and that is the value his bat could potentially provide while playing subpar defense. I don't see what the argument is
