Would've been fun to see Kopech vs. Acuna in this series.

Kopech and Cease in just over an hour.

How about 13 innings and 4 or fewer runs combined?

Hmm that would be a good bet. I'll take the under

Evan skoug looks like a wasted pick rather than a value 7th rounder (or whatever round he was)

The hit tool and the K's were always going to be the question with him.

His bat was supposed to be where the value was

The outfield depth is remarkable. Hope they keep the right ones, because they’re going to trade some of these guys down the line.

Kopech getting hit around a bit so far.

I gotta say, I love how fast he works. Just catch's and throws.

7th round pick a “wasted pick” and less than a year into their career. Never change soxtalk.

Cease with 1 hit 8Ks through 5.

Kopech rebounding nicely.  Anyone know if he’s working on the changeup a lot tonight?

There's people still learning about drafting/prospects/patience.

Oh and Cease... ?

No, the power was supposed to be his value. You can't think that a guy who was one strikeout away from the NCAA single season record had a good hit tool. We knew it was going to be something that we were going to have to work on and really undo a year or more of bad habits he got into. But with his power potential it was worth it.

Yes 100%

It was a flyer he could translate his power and that trait was certainly one of the most interesting ones left.

But he’s a flyer that needs to overcome a lot of swing and miss. But if he does, (see power above)

Sounds like you're describing Keon Barnum there...but a 7th round draft pick failing isn't a huge deal in the overall scheme of things, it's more the 1st through 3rd and maybe 4th/5th rounders you should be most critical of (depending on whether they're under or oversigns.)

Dash announcer said Cease hit 100 MPH tonight ?

Adolfo hbp and had to leave the game. Oh, and awesome job Cease

There is 1 reason he was drafted as high as the 7th round and that is the value his bat could potentially provide while playing subpar defense. I don't see what the argument is

Cease..

7 IP 2 H 0 R 0 ER 0 BB 12 SO 101 pitches??

Cease.  Hngh.

Cease with three more K’s in the 7th.  Likely final line:

7 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 12 K, 0 BB

I was watching, seemed to be precautionary.  The Dash were up 9-0 at the time.

No way they sent Cease out for another inning...zero need to push him right now.
