June 6, 20187 yr Really awesome day 3 I think. Loading up on legitimate prospects that could have gone much higher, some who just happen to get hurt at the wrong time.

June 6, 20187 yr Oh shit, Texas Rangers just took a kid from the town in which I am currently in. Strange to hear it announced.
June 6, 20187 yr Josh Norris @jnorris427 5m5 minutes ago More The #WhiteSox have taken two @OregonBaseball transfers in Isaiah Carranza and Travis Moniot. Don't look up Moniot's numbers though. He makes Adam Engel look special.

June 6, 20187 yr I'm digging all of this toolsy pitching in these rounds. The departed in Devenski was grabbed in round 25.
June 6, 20187 yr In the 19th RD, the White Sox select C Gabriel Ortiz, PJ Education HS (Puerto Rico) Edited June 6, 20187 yr by ChiliIrishHammock24
June 6, 20187 yr FWIW these are the rounds hostetler says they start taking more direction from Getz, also will take some to keep some scouts engaged that may not have had many taken to this point. edit: would be fun to place these guys on a map.

Big and strong build, especially in the lower half, has good body life for his build. Left handed hitter, big leg lift trigger, gets it down in time, short and strong swing, straight pull approach, patient hitter who looks for his pitch and looks to drive it, has very good raw bat speed and the ball comes off the barrel hard, lots of carry on his line drives and will get occasional lift, strong hitting tools. Has good lower half flexibility for his size and showed surprising agility getting out in front of home plate to make plays, long arm action, gets some tail on his throws, can shorten up his actions throwing, 2.06 best pop time. Has a definite chance with the bat.
June 6, 20187 yr It seems like a lot of PR players have gone off the board since round 8. I'm wondering if the hurricane recovery has brought some players to be more signable than otherwise would have.

They did talk about how some of the guys may be under the radar just because they didn't get to play or practice as much this year.
