Draft Day 3 Thread, rounds 11-40 (Tracker in OP)

Featured Replies

Jim Callis seems to love what we did. He said the Sox are the only team who took more than 1 of their top 200 picks, and the Sox took 3 of them.

In the 21st RD, the White Sox select RHP Nick Johnson, U of Rhode Island

So I have a source at Texas Tech who gave me this great info about our 11th RD pick Davis Martin....

"He's a pitcher and he's pretty good. He's also very nice and one of my favs"

Is that good?

This is referring to day 3 right?

Yeah, they did a break after Round 20 to talk about what they liked in Round 11-20, and while I missed the beginning of the convo, Callis said he really likes Davis Martin and Jason Bilous. And then Scott Braun brought up Isiah Carranza as being a good pick too. They may have mentioned Galusky too.

In the 24th RD, the White Sox select LHP Rigo Fernandez, Cal State Dominguez Hills

Somewhat ignorant question for those in the know....how do the slot values work for rounds 11-40?  It looks like the slots go away after the first 10 rounds - how much money does each team have to spend on rounds 11-40, and can they allocate that however they please?

Thanks for the info.

They can give each pick up to $125,000. Any amount above that comes out of your bonus pool money from rounds 1-10. Spending less than $125,000 on a pick doesn't save that money to be used on a different pick though, unlike the first ten rounds.

Neck deep into round 27 and Luke Heimlich has not been picked as of yet.

Thank you, Sir.  Exactly what I was looking for.

Not sure why people were saying he'd be a day 2 pick. Regardless if you think he did it or not, he plead guilty to sexual assault of a young child. Teams are gonna stay away from that.

Kelvin Maldonado trains at 1st Round Training near Bradenton/Sarasota (technically Ellenton) Florida. Former White Sox player Lastings Milledge is part owner. They are very responsive on social media (Instagram, Facebook, etc) if you have any questions on him specifically.

Sox just picked Bryce Bush a 3B from Michigan. He is pretty well regarded, but if he is still on the board at this point he probably isn't going to sign.

And now we are into friends and family territory.

Sox with HS kids in roudns 33 and 34.  Any chance they sign or are we into the Academy signings?

The 33rd rounder is  pretty good prospect which means we probably don't have enough to convince him to not go to college while the 34th rounder was an area cross-checker's grandson (or something similar) so we probably drafted him as a favor and he will probably go to college.

And we just took Larry King's son
