I can see leaving Gio in until someone got on base.. but this is too much. Now you throw Volstad in there with the bases loaded and no outs.

Renteria can't be the manager of this team when Sox are contending, theres no excuse for this

Haha Renteria is a disgrace to managerial profession.  The shifts have been horrible today as well, another sign of bad pitch selection/coaching

Lol I bet you all putting in your resume to manage the sox next year.....

And now Giolito's results are nothing special.

Boys i think we are in big trouble

Renteria is absolutely terrible.

You know how really good managers always seem to make the right move.  That’s not Ricky!

Maybe the Sox can have a legitimate coaching search and not just whoever can be their puppet.

Eh, at least he actually had a good night.

Fun fact, fourth pitcher or the inning and we have recorded 0 outs.

So...they overshifted Davis over to 3B side but constantly pitched him outside away from the shift...why the hell wouldn't you just have a normal double play shift? That would've sacrificed just one run and would've had 2 outs. I just don't understand the over shifting.

Renteria is doing his best to help the tank.

Should don Cooper be gone too? Seeing no one can throw strikes

No. Look at this bullpen. It isn't built to succeed. It's built to eat innings.

I don't think that's going to fix any issues

Giolito ERA back to 7.01, of course!

They still are to those who have been following him this year, thats how I see it.

Only person's opinion that matters on this is Gios himself

Nah. The Sox got way too many scrubs. Can't fix them all.

I say if they hire a real manager they should give him the option to bring in his own guys instead of making him take Cooper..

Wouldn't be the worst thing if there was a totally new coaching staff.  I'm not sure if Cooper can adjust to the loft era we're seeing.

But who can be the spy within the clubhouse then :)

Yep. Gio looked good and that is all that matters tonight. A Sox win does nothing to help the tank.

Are both shortstops drunk?
