That was almost disastrous...

Yep. Gio looked good and that is all that matters tonight. A Sox win does nothing to help the tank.

Losing ten games in row doesn’t exactly help young players to develop either, not when their manager is part of the problem.

With someone so "analytical" like him, he probably beats himself up about the 8th instead of focusing on how well the first 7 innings were.  There was absolutely no reason for him to start the 8th.

Seriously.  I'm still pissed that Gio went back out for the 8th.

You’re reaching here bud ?

I wonder how Jason would be as an announcer if we didn't suck and had good baseball to talk about.

That was a really nice run to get

Real good swings for Anderson tonight!

Eh, if he's that analytical then he knows he threw well, better than he has all year. Highest velocity of the year, more swings and misses, as of right now he's still only as good as his next start anyways.

No one is going to remember this game or losing streak in a year. The Sox need to tank right unlike the Bulls. Need a top 3 pick next June more than a meaningless win tonight.

Good job, Gio. 100 pitches. Eight Ks! Congrats. It's been a rocky road for you, Gio, but 8Ks means something good may be going on. Will be interested in hearing coop and Gio's postgame as to why he was so good.

Narvaez somehow only 32 ops points behind Moncada.  Tilson 25 back and climbing.

Sanchez also falling below 700 for the first time all season long.

The fans cheered wildly for him as he left the field. He knows he did well, folks, thanks to our fans who paid good $$ to watch the game. Our fans who show up are great.

I’m sure he felt awesome (relatively speaking) all night and I seriously doubt the bullpen allowing two inherited runners to score will change that.

bad calls again on Moncada

There's a difference between tanking and trying to lose. The entire purpose of this year is not to lose games, it's to figure out how many people we have that are worth a shit (not a lot). But it's also to give guys like Lucas, Reynaldo, Covey, Yoan, etc. a chance to work on and refine things and grow. Each one of those guys figuring something out is one less issue moving forward.

Those were closer. He's still so prone to whiffing on changeups. With that in mind, he can't let fastballs go for called strikes.

Quick poll. Not trying to start a fight. You all know I despise Soria. So the question is ... do you want us to blow this lead and lose cause of the tank/draft pick issue?

Greg's take: I want my nemesis Soria to dominate and us to WIN!

So win or lose, folks. What do you want. Please speak now.

This team is pressing right now and could really use a win right now.

Very well said. A pick in range of 7-10 next year would have been fine if the young guys played well. No one wanted to see nearly all of them underperform this year, even if it means a top 3 pick.

that movement by Soria, wow
