Avi off the DL

Hopefully he continues to rake.

We'll see how long he can stay off it now.

Nick D is back so I can only guess he took Tilson's spot. Not sure.

Tilson was sent back to Charlotte

No time for one anyway, when you have only 10 days left to show him off and sell.

I'm torn on whether I want us to trade him or keep him.  If we trade him I would really want a solid return for him.  With his age and potential he could be a key piece for our rebuild.

I want him to stay and be a good player in our future playoff run

It's really fascinating that he's been so hot when he's been healthy, when all of us thought a huge regression was in store considering his 2017 BABIP.

Is there a chance that his career numbers are now good enough for us to consider a long term contract? I just don't know if a .752 career OPS is high enough for a corner outfielder, but if we consider his last two years to be more indicative of his next 5...

Would something like 5 years, 40-55 million a year make sense? I have no idea what average salaries for outfielders are these days.

His BABIP has dropped 90 points vs. last year.  I actually think he’s been a bit unlucky, but a good portion of that is regression and some probably related to him hitting less ground balls.  On the plus side, his ISO has jumped up 90 points as he’s hit a ton more fly-balls and has improved his hard contact rate.    This is the Avi we always wanted to see with the exception of the non-existing walk rate.  Niw we just need to see him maintain this power surge over the second half of the season.  If that happens, then I’m all for discussing an extension.
