This. Anyone who says Renteria is probably either a milennial, or simply wasn't paying attention. And, this. When Ventura was hired, that was the 1st moment I got into the mindset of "ever

If you literally question if your manager is bad after almost every game, your manager is bad.

  • Bevington would make Ricky and Ventura look like baseball savants.

No...that would be the Cubs.

No I think the Cubs have had more success than the Sox and Phillies, even if it didn't result in championships. IIRC the Cubs won 5 pennants from 1929-1945 but lost every one of those WS. Most of them to the Yankees.

Back before divisional play the White Sox had to compete with the Yankees for that one playoff spot.  That kind of skews everything.

The Sox are the only one of the charter franchises to never play in the postseason in consecutive years, and have the fewest postseason appearances amongst those teams as well. They're definitely in the conversation.

Did I read correctly that Renteria only intends to give Collins 4-5 starts behind the plate the rest of the way?  Why is no one from above having a conversation with him to correct his role in the player development process.

There's the growing possibility (as horrifying as it is) that they like what he's doing as manager.

I’m starting to think this isn’t Ricky’s choice and it the front office’s directive.  It seems like the Sox have Collins earmarked for the primary DH next year, while getting spot starts here and there at catcher and 1B.

???

I'm hoping we get Grandal and go with DH / Catcher / Backup with McCann, Grandal and Collins.
