Abreu thought there was no way that was caught. Can't blame him. Eloy smoked that ball.

This is a terrible take.

  • Too bad we didn't have a decent CF to call up in September ?

  • Watch more baseball in the Sox organization.  You wont be disappointed.  Base running I don't think is even coached.  I watched Zavala kill a rally last week.

  • That's disgusting and proves without a shadow of a doubt Avi woulda been great in RF this year. He's making something like 2.5 mill or 3 mill a year for gosh sakes.

Turned into a fun little game here. Too bad Eloy was robbed.

that was one hell of a catch....credit him.  Abreu...dumbass play...and no surprise with Capra there.

Capra is awful

And now Ricky pretty much batting deadweight #7 in the order will likely be the end of this one.

You absolutely can. 0 excuses there.

There was like an 0.1 % chance that ball is caught.

Dude Abreu was at 3B! That is little league baseball one on one regardless if it was caught or not. He was scoring regardless.

Your takes the past couple of weeks on this board (and the other board) have been terrible.

Who cares, you tag no matter what.  Also the expected bavg was .780

When was the last time you seen someone in this organization that knew how to run the bases?

Whole season they’ve avoided the plate. Most pitches out of the zone in all of baseball.

But usually it's down and away. Against Cleveland seems like they're going high.

be interesting to see just how many outs/runs he's cost this team this year. Just a moron sometimes..

Sure if Billy Hamilton is in CF.

Leury would have been running 20 feet to right center if Eloy hit that ball at him tonight

AJ

I can't wait to dump some of this dead weight like Goins...Palka...etc...good God.

Eloy was robbed but that AT LEAST should ne a sacrifice fly. Abreu cost Eloy an out along with an RBI. IN FUCKING EXCUSABLE.

I have to quote my own post again to reiterate this. That might of been the worst baserunning I've seen this season and Abreu has made some dumb ass base running mistakes all year. I still can't believe he cost Eloy an out AND an RBI. Unreal.

that ball Eloy hit was hit so hard it tailed back into Mercado...it was like a teed up driver.

Abreu knows. No one taking it harder than him when, in the grand scheme of things, it meant nothing. Obviously terrible baserunning but is what it is.

We really don't know if he was screaming him to get back or not. That's what happens when there is a language barrier. Still though that is something you learn and know in little league. Hell, I've seen my high school coach bench one of my teammates for making that mistake.

I'm sure he feels bad about it. Probably buys him dinner tonight .

Eloys gonna be getting a lot of big hits for us in the future.

Doesn't matter, you tag anyways because you will score either way.

Camera showed him apologizing to Eloy in the dugout.

Fun game nevertheless . 9th inning was exciting.

I'm surprised the CF was playing that shallow. Maybe he thought it was Engle.

Abreu's a good guy. He must be kicking himself. Probably just got excited seeing the ball hit so hard and thinking the game could be tied. Inexcusable of course in that situation regardless.
