He still had a very productive year. I would bet money that any playoff team would take him in a heartbeat

He is 15th in WRC+ among first basemen, the very definiton of average. There are more pressing needs for the Sox, I am just afraid they do something crazy like a 3 or 4 year contract.

If Collins can hit 250 with a 350 OBP I'd like him around the 6 spot. Drop Madrigal to 9.

I have been and am excited about Collins though.  I really think he's going to figure it out.

My comp for Collins is Jack Cust and I am sticking to it.

Makes you wonder how Leury is a decent defender in the outfield when he takes the strangest routes to the ball.

He doesn't get there regardless but he looked like a dope going back on that. Broke back right with ball tailing back left off the lefty bat.

Leury doesn't look comfortable at all in CF tonight  He must have trouble picking up the ball, these are DeAza-esque routes.

He's really bad at reading balls right at him. He's fine on everything else. Inexperience at the position the most likely culprit.

A high school kid would shit his pants and likely break in on that 100+ mph ev liner to center. I get your point though. I do think fans have no idea how difficult that read is when you haven't had 1000 reps looking at it.
