He gets to adjust his no trade which will now include teams like the White Sox and Texas, leaving a bunch of teams that have a DH and don’t spend money. So to trade with these teams who need a DH,, even if giving up nothing, Boras will need some more money to waive it. Edited November 5, 20196 yr by Dick Allen

People here were willing to give up a slight bit of cash as a free agent signing, I don't see a problem with that concept.
November 5, 20196 yr I would have taken a flyer on JDM at 4x25 unless Scott thinks the Chisox are a POS team. Should have used those back-door channels.

Even less when you start talking about what is essentially a 1 year deal. Sox and Rangers would make sense but you would eliminate teams like the Mariners and Blue Jays. 14 hours ago, beckham15 said: This kid will be correct eventually but I think he is just pulling things out of his ass at this point. The White Sox are interested enough where they are willing to give up assets for what could be a 1 year deal, but not interested enough to make him opt out? Doesn’t really add up.

I really wanted JDM but unless they want Carson Fulmer or some trash in AA it makes no sense to trade for him considering the opt out next year.
November 9, 20196 yr If you can agree to the framework of a trade and get a new contract in there where an opt out is only available after year 2 or 3 I’d be all about it
