Anderson DFA, Jose Ruiz recalled

Thanks for the memories Timmy

This makes Renteria’s comments about stretching him out for 3-4 innings look even more inane in hindsight.

And they had the gaul to defend running him out there for a 2nd inning.  RR is such a joke.

Gall, Gauls, Visigoths, it was total BS.

looking at their recent pitching looks, and respective performances, there were at least 5-6 better options in the third and certainly against their four best hitters in the top of the 4th.   Now we can argue Mendick getting deked and Grandal aided and abetted the meltdown, but Anderson was never any good in the first place.   I can’t remember a singke spring game the last two years where he was unscored upon.

Anderson threw a 1-2-3 third and looked really solid

While he shouldn't have been up, and shouldn't have gone more than an inning and shouldn't have been expected to go 3-4 innings: he shouldn't have been DFA'd...Feel for the kid

Between this and the Basabe deal, I am not happy

He looked shaky as can be in the 3rd against a horrible bottom of the lineup.

Luplow was something like 0/20 coming into game, Taylor a catcher best known for defense (not really known at all compared to the likes of Gomes and R. Perez) and DeShields just MEH as a hitter.

Context matters.

Self-inflicted wounds.  Not going to get THAT upset, but eminently avoidable nonetheless.

Sure, but to say he shouldn’t be DFA’d?? Who wants that kid eating more MLB innings?

That ball was crushed and I was still expecting it to be caught on the warning track due to our luck this homestand.

wrong thread lol

Was obviously doing well enough for our incompetent manager to want him to go 4 innings
