Jose Abreu is a finalist for AL MVP

Featured Replies

Ramirez and LeMahieu are the other 2 finalists. No Bieber. No Trout.

But his contract!!!!!!

His resurgence and production at his age is something you would see in the 90s MLB. Crazy.

Oh come on, get out of here with your thinly-veiled steroid accusations

His award to lose IMO.

I'd bet $100 that he wins it.  I'd bet more if I had it ?

It would have been more of a lock if Ricky didn't give Jose Ramirez two huge go-ahead hits.

Abreu will get at least 24 first place votes. He’ll win and it won’t be close.

Resurgence? He led baseball in RBIs last season. Give me a break.

I can say that over a 60 game sprint, Abreu's game found another level than he had in the past. And I say this, not "just" at the dish, but hustling to beat out infield hits, defensively, and as a center of influence in the clubhouse.

Whether or not he could have sustained such a level over 162 is subject to debate. But for the 60 game season that was this year, we all have to hand the MVP to him, IMO.

I'm glad that he's a White Sox today. I also think it can be also fair to debate whether or not we'll be glad he's a White Sox by the end of his contract. Both can be true at the same time.

RBIs greg? Do you also piss in a chamber pot and bloodlet when you are sick? Get with the times bro. RBIs are worthless. I would lead the league in RBIs if I had Tim Anderson ahead of me in the order.

I didn't say anything about steroids here. I just made an observation. You came to that conclusion yourself.

Anyway, I think Jose wins this. It's a shame it will have an asterisk due to the shortened season, but who knows if he keeps that place up in a 162-game season. I doubt it.
