Jeremy Haber could be in play but it's a lateral move for Hahn.

It probably really does depend on how salty he is about TLR.  If he is in a Balta state of mind, he might well jump at a lateral move.  If he is OK with all of this he probably is in no rush to leave.

  • Never forget the insider trading done by Epstein to get Rizzo. Traded him to San Diego from Boston, then got Hoyer, then SDs GM,  to trade him to Chicago, then hired Hoyer.

Man, to think they were one rain delay speech away from getting no championships at all -- what a story that would have been.

  • All the owners in Chicago just seem like super swell people.

Hahn would work for more stable ownership (expected duration and operationally), would have a significantly higher long term payroll to work with post COVID, and have no owner interference regarding the day to day within the set baseball ops budget. Hahn has a chance to grow beyond what he was allowed to oversee with the White Sox. Tony LaRussa is not formally above Hahn on the org chart, but likely has a higher influence with Jerry on any major decision. Also, a new ownership group will bring their own people within a year of taking ownership, and Jerry is a few years from 90.

I expect Hahn to stay at this point, since he did not step down last month, likely for the opportunity to see things through despite what occurred. I also don't see Jerry granting Hahn permission to interview with the Cubs. COVID & industry job cuts slows down a front office mass exodus in spite of the disgust Jerry sowed across the entire organization.

Lateral move with less job security. I think he stays

Hahn's not going anywhere.

Sox would have to give the cubs permission to speak with Hahn as it is a lateral move....maybe that is just in football.
