Idiotic. This is what happens when you have a manger from the 90’s that has pickled his brain in alcohol

Did anything get said about Hamilton?

All I heard was LaRussa said after the game that he did not think Billy would be available tomorrow.

Giolito not pitching like an ace and being loose with the change-up doesn’t help.

We knew coming into today that Schoop and Haase were their hot hitters.

Plus, Skubal has good raw stuff, but Sox hitters also 50% responsible for getting themselves out...well, in addition to the sac bunting.

Giolito had a whip of 1 and k'ed 9 in 7 innings. Some bad hr luck got him today. It happens.

He might not even have played in any minor league games by then, and Robert/Jimenez will be nearing returns.  Something will have to go (even more) terribly wrong to see Cespedes at the big league level this year.

Cespedes is a superior player on defense, and the bar could not be lower as a hitter to upgrade the position. It would be a plus move. But you are probably right. They will likely want him to see a certain number of pitches in the minors just as a proper way to develop him all things being equal.

16 strikeouts no home runs today. Hope the fans who attended this "modern baseball" game at least got some good food at the park.

At the same time, this team has shown that getting on base by any means still matters. Even if they don’t hit homers or hit in clutch situations. It isn’t just pitching that got them here. It is also getting on base short of hitting homers
