You’re scared of Detroit’s offense because of two prospects?  Other than Baddoo, what other young foundational piece do they have in their major league lineup?  Meanwhile, the Sox have Anderson, Moncada, Robert, Eloy, Vaughn, & Madrigal for the next three to six years.  They have some promising young pitching no doubt (which can be volatile), but they got to a ways to go with the offense to catch up to us.

other people's prospects are always to be feared. ours are to be doubted.

Eh, I see it both ways. A couple months ago on here, I read that Detroit's pitching prospects were "busty" and that Stiever could be the centerpiece in a big trade.

KC will also suck.Only Detroit will mount a challenge.

And that DET challenge isn't coming for a couple of years.

The fact that the Sox should own the division this season, and the following two, SHOULD play a big role in the decisions the FO makes at this deadline.  Mortgaging depth you'll use in 2022-2023 to acquire a rental in 2021 doesn't match the goals of a leveraging a competitive window.  There's a big difference between a team catching lightning in a bottle by having an unexpectedly great season, giving them all the motivation in the world to push all their chips in, and a team working within a window of 3-5 seasons where they are expected to be WS contenders every season.  The latter has to be more conservative on the trade front or you end up like the Chicago Cubs.

I'd trade anyone and everyone for a world series title like the Cubs.

Way more scared of KC than DET.

I'm may more scared of the IL since it likes to acquire our players.
