September 29, 20214 yr Imagine being the Dodgers… Defending World Series champions, you’re having an amazing year, won 100 games, you’ve got by far the best run differential in the league…. and yet in all likelihood you’re gonna have to face one of the hottest teams in baseball history in a 1 game wild card to decide your season.

It's such a shitty gimmick... I'd say make it 3 games, but that layoff might be too much for the others teams.

Yeah that sucks. Lets go with a conference system like the NBA with seeds. You still play a lot of your games with the teams in your divisions, but your place in the postseason bracket would be determined based on your overall record in the conference/league rather than just the division. I would also like to see more interdivisional games played within leagues. I also like the points system in hockey. Wish baseball could incorporate something like that with extra innings. But Manfred and Co would rather put a runner on 2B to leadoff the 10th. Edited October 3, 20214 yr by ScooterMcGee

Baltimore and Arizona are far worse than anybody else. You don't get better seeding by virtue of having played them 19 times when someone else only got to play them 6-7 times.

The AL East has four 90 win teams and one 50 win team. The AL Central has one 90 win team and four 70 win teams. For example.

Baseball needs relegation now more than ever.
