Groundball city!  Glad Menechino has done nothing since last season.

These are obvious ground ball situations. Just put a runner in motion or something.

Very true.

Not sure that I wouldn't prefer Ruiz but it is what it is...go down with your best pitcher at least.

Why is our closer pitching in a tied game on the road in the 9th?

Leury is a better player than this. With a team that has a number of injuries, he should still be playing pretty regularly, maybe a mental break might help though.

Moving him to the top of the lineup…didn’t?

He’s also trying to slap it to left field far too much and he doesn’t have the bat control to do that.  It’s causing him to take awful swings.

Leury couldn’t hit a beach ball right now if it was thrown to him. He’s simply not an every day player and not a Ben Zobrist type of utility man.

Probably going to be a two inning appearance for him and I’m fine with that.

You would rather have Ruiz?  Hendricks hasn't pitched much recently and needs work. Plus off day tmrw.

It's their 4-5-6. You throw the best guy you have left in the bullpen to face them. Probably gets the 10th too if we get that far. Then you go to Ruiz if it goes beyond that.

Liam always does great in these non save situations /s

I guess there arent any other good options though.  Sigh

I hope we continue losing so we finish with the worst in the league.

If they let him go 2 then it might not be bad

That’s stupid

They won’t, he pitched yesterday

Hendriks velocity seems down again.  Lots of 96.

Of course.  Guys are putting the ball in play more often against Hendriks this year.

Well we ALL saw this ending coming.

This team just wants to give this game away.

Yeah Ruiz and even Graveman are throwing the ball more crisply.

Here comes a wild pitch, followed by infield chopper that scores the run

Feels like the good ol Linebrink/Dotel days.

Haha that would have been fitting if he slipped

That was a play Kelenic would have struggled with...and Leury Legend.

They better win this damn game if they're going to extras.

That was a Leury-esque swing
