I've been thinking that for awhile, but if the Sox acquired someone with his current slash line people would be furious

That guy was probably the most clutch hitter in baseball last year. But, like the 2022 Giants have shown, clutch doesn't really carry over from 1 year to the next.

Playing Eloy in an even tougher defensive position, one that he's never played in the major leagues, doesn't strike me as a particularly good idea.

  • Possible Targets Andrew Benintendi - .335/.401/.432 vs. RHP. Can play LF fairly well, but no RF experience. Also not a whole lot of power with an ISO of .084.  Brandon Drury - .261/.333/.469

Can Happ still play 2B? If so, Happ turning Harrison 2B/Sheets RF into a platoon is an interesting idea.

In the Giants games I've watched, he still seems to be leading off vs RHP. It's obvious they still value him even if this years slash line is ugly. He'd be a good fit on the Sox, but they never really seem to value players with Wade's skillset anyway.

He hasn't played there since 2019.

Trading for Happ and then putting him back at 2b would be so White Sox

Bullshit, all of it. 2B, RF and SP are your greatest needs.

Sure, every team can use an extra bullpen arm or two, but it should not be the "priority".

Reliever Anthony Bass: After struggling as a closer during the first week of the 2021 season, Bass has thrived in a setup role this season (1.74 ERA in 31 games). Bass — who’s earning $3 million this season — has a $3 million team option for 2023; the Marlins must pay a $1 million buyout if they decline the option

Of course, the White Sox have been connected to/speculated to this guy, yet another RHR.

If at first you don’t succeed, try try again?
