October 25, 200322 yr It sounds like something even an 8 year old would be too smart to come up with. A fading .260 hitter who is average at best in CF, for 2 of the game's better hitters. That, and the fact Houston is looking to cut payroll.
October 25, 200322 yr that would be a good trade...biggio has a 3-4 years left and we need a lead off guy...everyone on here says maggs and lee will leave anyway...
October 25, 200322 yr Author haha yes I know its a joke thread I am making fun of all these "My car repair man says...." "the guy whos lawn I mow...."

October 25, 200322 yr the funny part is that people actually believe it...the fact is no one on here knows what the hell will happen....the only certainty i can think of is that vlad is going to the yankees...
October 25, 200322 yr In Gammons column on espn.com, he said Colon reportedly turned down a 3 year $35 million offer from the Sox. He also said Boston won't be going after him. Bart's going to the Yankees.
October 25, 200322 yr Author the yankees are not gonna sign Vlad, Colon, Castillo, and resign pettite thats a lot of money and a little too much even for the yankees I think
October 25, 200322 yr the yankees are not gonna sign Vlad, Colon, Castillo, and resign pettite thats a lot of money and a little too much even for the yankees I think That sounds like its about par for the course.
October 25, 200322 yr the yankees are not gonna sign Vlad, Colon, Castillo, and resign pettite thats a lot of money and a little too much even for the yankees I think Well, considering there have been reports that Steinbrenner is willing to up the payroll over the $200 mil mark don't rule it out.
October 25, 200322 yr Its definilty a bad situation for the Sox, because Wells and Clemens could possibly be done, for sure Clemens, and the Yanks as we all know dont have Pettie signed for next season so basically there rotation after the WS could be Mussina Wells Contreas Weaver ? ? That doesnt look good for Sox fans. The last I heard, Pettitte was not signed and may be thinking about signing with Houston.

October 26, 200322 yr Don't forget they have Jon Lieber under contract for next year. He will almost definitely have a spot in their rotation.
October 26, 200322 yr Don't forget they have Jon Lieber under contract for next year. He will almost definitely have a spot in their rotation. You are correct. They'll definitely have Lieber, Contreras and Mussina in the rotation. I'd say the other spots are up for grabs, depending on what else goes down. I think Pettitte stays, but that's just me.

I think Pettitte stays, but that's just me. Not so sure about Contreras. If his salary wasn't so high, I could see him being the main setup man out of the pen. I wonder if he could close aswell (Rivera is so damn old). He will start though, but who knows with the Yankees.
October 26, 200322 yr Well, considering there have been reports that Steinbrenner is willing to up the payroll over the $200 mil mark don't rule it out. Someone needs to stop that s*** in the main office of the MLB(aka, Bud Selig). They spent $150 mill this year, and are totally obvlivious to the luxury tax. If they are willing to spend more, then that is just not fair....seriously. A salary cap HAS to be put into effect immediately. It is complete and utter bulls*** that the Yankees can get away with this.
