What is the point of Payton?  He has looked bad at the plate and in the outfield. Is he considered better than Helseley?

Rewarding a guy that put up an awesome season in Charlotte, like they should do in a lost season.  Payton has a .908 OPS is Charlotte.  Compare that to .716 for Haseley on the same team in the same park.  So yeah, he's probably quite a bit better than "Helseley".

Plus being a local kid is a nice little bonus touch

Is there a financial reward for finishing second?

Yep...don't have to pay overtime.

The Sox have now scored three runs or less in 10 of their last 12 games, tonight marks the 81st time this season they've done that.

That mean they have guaranteed themselves scoring three runs or less in 50% of games FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON.

Priority number one for the new manager, FIX THE DAMN OFFENSE.

At minimum they need an mlb quality lefty bat along with Oscar stepping up. Our best lefty right now is Sheets.
