Would TLR be the 2023 White Sox manager if healthy? 61 members have voted

  1. 1. Would TLR be the 2023 White Sox manager if he had not experienced health problems in 2022?

    • Yes -- the organization only moved on from TLR because of prohibitive health issues, and he would be the current skipper if healthy.

    • No -- the health issues really were prohibitive, but the organization would have moved on after the 2022 season based on performance even if TLR was fully healthy.

    • No -- and the health issues were deliberately oversold as a face-saving excuse to move on from TLR.

No.  The answer is no.

We'll never know for sure, but I am sticking with no.

Any other scenario is too hard to hard to bear.

Did I mention no?

Can we add a 4th choice of I'm done with talking about anything TLR related ? That might've been the poll winner.

Sure -- how about "I refuse to participate in the poll I just participated in"?

I didn't participate in the poll just the thread ! ?

I am convinced that if TLR remained healthy, Jerry would have kept him on until he got managerial win #3,000. No matter how long it took.

I think Jerry actually fired Tony. He is loyal and doesn't care much about winning but Tony was bordering on being senile and even Jerry saw that this is not working anymore so he kinda gave Tony that cop-out of citing health for stepping down.

Of course Tony actually probably isn't healthy which is part of him not being able to do this anymore. At 78 or whatever his age is he simply wasn't fit to do the job anymore.

Still with more player  health he likely would have won 90 games and the division but that's not a testament to his performance but how bad the division is and how talented the Sox core is when everyone is healthy.

I don’t think he would have been back.  He had the pacemaker all last season. Now it’s an issue that can’t be dealt with? They said he had another issue. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was cognitive. There was a big difference difference between Tony’s postgame press conferences in 2021 and 2022 and 2011.

im sure even JR realized Tony wasn’t the guy they needed last season.

I thought there was a huge difference between his postgame press conferences in 2021 and 2022.  Regardless of how you felt about him in 2021, the 2022 version of TLR clearly was something different.

I say who gives a f***?

Is there a clear path to the definitive answer?

He's gone.

Thank God and pacemakers, eh?

Let's find some other septuagenarian to kick around.

Hopefully one with a drinking problem.
