I think I've fallen in love with the Cincinnati Reds

My softball teammate is a Reds fan and he said Elly is gonna make $300M in his career and I had PTSD from projecting Eloy, Moncada and Robert.

He's better than Tatis if he can stick on the left side of the infield and simply avoid getting hurt with how aggressively he runs the bases.

Guys like Acuna and Ohtani are different arguments... but let's see how he adjusts when he and the Reds fave their first prolonged slump together.

A lot of resiliency to blow late 7-4 lead... not score with 1st/3rd and no outs in Top of ninth but Alexis Diaz just shut down Os and now three runs and counting in the Top of the 10th at Baltimore.

I don't think Elly runs the bases the way the Sox would prefer. Some of us were recalling Altuve and Kopech's charade last year.

Reds lost 5/6 to Brewers

Fastest-tracked infield assists under Statcast (since 2015):
Today, Elly De La Cruz: 97.9 mph
July 14, 2022, Oneil Cruz: 97.8 mph
Sept. 20, 2020, Fernando Tatis Jr.: 97.3 mph
Sept. 18, 2021, Fernando Tatis Jr.: 96.8 mph
June 20, 2022, Oneil Cruz: 96.7 mph

However, it wasn't De La Cruz's fastest-tracked assist this year.

In May for Triple-A Louisville, De La Cruz made a 99.2 mph throw to first base for an out.

CES 2-2 w/HR playing 3b.  Maybe he's better than I thought.

Back to White Sox as manager lol?

De la Cruz and Reds demolishing Dodgers....back to first place after that 2-7 run against the Brewers.

It appears someone has found a new muse

More fun when they can knock the Cubs back from their dream world of being in first place by Thursday…

Yeah, they’re done. Starting pitching is atrocious

Elly De la Cruz

HR, 3B   six RBIs
