Doyle hasn't even been a complete disaster...he's rounding into at least a useful player with around a .650 ops, great defense arm speed and XB power.

Or basically, everything Acuna was supposed to have been...

It's that Castillo move that really sticks in the craw.

Worst of all, to be stuck with him again on the team next year seems almost cruel fate at this point...you just know they'll put him in the rotation again in an attempt to extract some value, and it will just about kill their April/May record.

The dude has 26 strikeouts and 0 walks in 74 plate appearances with the Sox, while they have been primarily starting him against lefties. He’s an absolutely putrid hitter.

Mune makes him look like Arraez

Jimmy, do you think they’re developing them to be 2-3 inning relievers as some sort of market inefficiency?

650 ops hitters with his abundant physical tools are at least useful role/platoon players...it's not like he is still down in the 500s as a member of the Sox.

Braden has been even more of a net negative despite the nice throw yesterday.

Also, the "starting" value of Schultz H.Smith McDougal Oppor and Grant Taylor has taken a massive hit this year. Hard to comprehend.

Looking back at Sox teams post-2005 this collapse is nothing new when the Sox had a first place lead in mid-Sept:

2020: Sept 19: in 1st by 3.0 games w/ 8 games remaining. Season end: 1 game back, 3rd place, made playoffs at wild card.

2012: Sept 18: in 1st by 3.0 games. Season end: 3 games back and out of the playoffs

2008: Sept 21: in 1st by 2.5 games. Then lost 5 in a row before winning games 161, 162, and 163 to salvage the season

The only exception is the 2021 season when they held a huge division lead through the entire 2nd half. But even there, they played .600 ball in the first half and then were a .500 team in the second half - so that was more about them being in a weak division.

Getz is just the latest in a succession of incompetent front office staff. As I said earlier, I don't see this changing under the current ownership. If they actually fired Getz, who is confident that his replacement wouldn't be even worse?

The guy literally had one of the worst trade deadlines of all time.

Kenny Williams' 2005 deadline was picking up a utility infielder whose OPS+ was 33 in his 99 regular season at-bats.

Literally.

Worst of all time.

LOL.

Not sure how this relates at all but okay.

The guy you called a project is now in the bullpen. It was a failed trade. Not sure why you can’t admit it.
