According to Merkin's e-mail newsletter, he's set a target date of the trade deadline to be back on the mound in a Major League game. Also he has been contacted by a few teams already including the Cubs who he said was one of the first teams to reach out to him.

I'll root for him regardless of team, even the Cubs.

Better fit on a contending team than here. More power to him.

I think the Sox will resign him at a discounted rate.  Like a two year deal, backloaded on the second year.

Certainly will have plenty of $ to do so...

X2

Almost starting to feel sorry for Craig Kimbrel.

Almost.

But he keeps getting paid $10+ million per year...so not feeling THAT sorry.

At any rate, Liam's a good dude...he might end up signing in the middle of the season to one of those deals with incentives based on a 2-3 month long season in order to earn a much healthier 2025 option year.

Don't want to ever bet against that guy.  Do so at your own peril.

I'll admit I was pumped to get Kimbrel. I thought we had the best 8/9 inning guys in all of baseball. It was that over the top excess that WS teams had.

I'm hoping Liam hooks up with a top four team. Maybe as the set up guy. Watching him get a ring would be nice.
