I never really paid attention to OG while he was coaching. I've been thinking about his attitude and playing style. I wonder what everyone else, pro and con is basing their opinion.

I'm sure most of us, including me, know ozzie best from his playing days. I loved his passion, enthusiasm, and teamwork while he was with the sox, he was my fav. player when i was just getting into baseball in '93.

He really impressed me during his press conferance.

It doesn't matter who the manager is, if the players continue to f*** up, no manager is going to succeed. I think we should give Oz a shot, and if he fails so be it, we move on. I think Oz will succeed.

As much as I liked Ozzie as a player (I cried when he got hurt in 92), I like think he is a good managerial choice, because of his in your face style.

He is the type of manager this club needs right now. Ozzie isn't afraid of anybody and won't back down. (the guy smoked a cigar while doing warm up stretches, when he was on the sox...he doesn't give a rats ass about what people think)

I only hope Ozzie doesn't turn into the second coming of Terry Bevington. As much as we were disgruntled with Manuel, Manuel was 1,000 times more competent than bevington.

I neva saw him as a playa since I've only been following Baseball and the White Sox for a few years. But I really like the effect he had on the Florida team especially the youngsters e.g Miguel Cabrera.

I know Ozzie as a player, as I'm sure most of us do. He may be just the "anti-Manuel" that this team needs.

Yas,

Let's be honest here. A freshly departed cadaver would be the definition of "anti-Manuel." At least the Sox will save $1500 a year on formaldehyde now that Manuel is gone.

A freshly departed cadaver is more like the definition of Manuel.

LMAO!!

I truly have never seen a more uninspired, passive, and "blah" manager in my life.

pant size...

or the fact that he looks like an ugly woman dressed like a man.

Effect..? What effect..? He was a friggin 3rd base coach.

He came on waaaay to strong and left himself little wiggle room when the inevitable confrontation comes with the first ballplayer who decides to go head to head with him. Whether its Frank or whoever is irrelevant. I don't doubt his passion or enthusiasm, right now I doubt his competence. Big time. If he proves me wrong and shows that he's the best since Al Lopez and Tony LaRussa then great. Right now it looks like Reinsdorf is following his pattern. Get an inexperienced guy and hire him on the cheap.
