May 3, 20241 yr Over at MLB.com they have their early projections for the June draft. Here is what they say for the White Sox: "5. White Sox: Nick Kurtz, 1B, Wake Forest (No. 4) Kurtz has shaken off a slow start to the 2024 season and seems to homer in just about every game. He’s now up 18 long balls to go along with a .305/.524/.805 line. He has a 1.409 OPS in ACC play." Just my guess but if they do draft another first baseman that seems to say a few things about Vaughn doesn't it?
May 3, 20241 yr They aren't going after Kurtz. Go read the draft thread in FutureSox for informative discourse.

May 3, 20241 yr Way too risky to use a Top 5 pick on a 1B. If the bat turns out to be anything less than completely savage, there's no value there.
May 3, 20241 yr I’d be absolutely shocked if they took Kurtz at number 5, I’d rather take the second baseman from West Virginia or the high school kid, Griffen. West Virginia kid, has crazy bat speed. Was a top pick option before injury
